Which film has the most shocking Rape Scene?

Well theres not always just strong glory violence that shock some of us when we watch disturbing films but rape can be so hard to bare to watch.

The original Last House On The Left is the most shocking so I vote for that. A Clockwork Orange is a smart film but the rape scene is very disturbing. What is the most shocking rape scene you seen on film?

I was probably the most shocked by the rape scene in Deliverance. The first time I watched it I was under the impression it was gonna be an adventure/comedy film. Boy was I wrong lol
He got me, Charley! He bit me! You know what you're gonna have to do now, don't you? Kill me. Kill me, Charley before I turn into a vampire, and...GIVE YOU A HICKEY!

I want to give a legitimate answer, but I can't. rape scenes are too vulgar to watch and I immediately excuse myself from the room. sorry, clam.

I wouldn't say it's the most shocking, I don't think, as you kinda see it coming and it does fit the tone of the film, but The Hills Have Eyes remake... that had me feeling the most uncomfortable out of the options given (that I've seen, which is most of them). The first time I saw it, I found myself extremely awkward and struggled to watch, but in a way that felt like I had to do so. Very effective for a horror film without showing too much of it. That'd get my vote.

Pretty sure that Irreversible should be on this poll.

Damn straight. I had to walk out of the room on that one. I felt like I was a shitty person just for watching it.

I was thinking it should be on the list too. Talk about brutal. It's even worse when you realize that the guy who gets his face smashed in at the beginning of the film ISN'T the rapist.

As strange as this sounds, most of these Rape scene's don't really phase me... not trying to sound morbid, I just don't think they are THAT hard to watch, A Clockwork Orange, Straw Dogs, Last house on the Left, barley had any impact of me at all.

Irreversible on the other hand....FUCK THAT MOVIE! God! never watching it again, it was horrible. Not only does he rape her, but He brutally smashes her face in and murders her.

The whole movie was just so unpleasantly violent and disgusting. Not sure what it's purpose is, other then to shock, but I'll most likely never watch it again. I'm not saying it's a bad film at all, but I have to say, I absolute hated it. Which I suppose is the right reaction.

Irreversible is a morality play. Ultimately, I agree with Roger Ebert's assessment that "the reverse chronology makes Irreversible a film that structurally argues against rape and violence, while ordinary chronology would lead us down a seductive narrative path toward a shocking, exploitative payoff. By placing the ugliness at the beginning, Gaspar Noe forces us to think seriously about the sexual violence involved."

It's a deliberately ugly film, but does not have ugliness as its sole purpose. The ugliness, like the film's structure, is there to make us react...and ultimately (if we have the stomach for it) to ponder.

I've never seen Irreversible and I forgot all about I Spit On Your Grave as I own both the original and remake. So thanks for adding them on the poll of this thread
