So, do you think there will be a countdown clock on this website to Rob Zombie's Halloween? If not, then perhaps we can use this thread to countdown the next year until it is released in theatres. :bastard:

I have a countdown on my myspace page :)

Only 1 year and 18 days (and so many hours) to go now!!!

If i could use HTML i could post here, but, i cant :(

How can we do a countdown when we don't know the release date?
Or do we and I just haven't heard about it?
If a date has been set, it's surely only tentative.

The current date is October 19th, 2007.
Which could easily change. That doesn't even give the movie two weeks in the theater before Halloween. I guess they figure on it making the bulk of its money by then, but it would be better to release it at least a week earlier, depending on what other movies open at that time.

For the Saw fans, like ME, Saw is to Halloween, October 31, just as much as Halloween is to Halloween, October 31. And it opens just days not weeks before.

Saw is a horror movie, but horror movies can do well at any time of the year. If you title a movie "Halloween", I think it stands to reason that people might not be as likely to see if directly after the holiday itself.

I find the proposition rather silly myself, but hey, that just me :D. I could see maybe once next summer rolls around and we know a definitive release date. But to have it counting down a year in advance sorta screams "geeks".

I'm no geek!!! I was just very bored one afternoon and happened to stumble across a countdown website where i created numerous countdown's to different events...

I do all sorts of things when i'm bored, that was one of the things!!! That doesnt make me a geek!!!! :)

Oh, and by the way, i only even check my myspace account like, once a month so i dont very often see it anyway!!! :D:D:D

And back on topic from here on...

So going by the Jan 28th date, thats pretty much two months filming. Thats probably a long time to film a Halloween movie. Which is good.

Does anyone know how long it took to film the previous films? I know the original was done in 3 weeks, but that was something supernatural in itself. I think it is 2-3 months to make a movie nowadays.

And does anyone have any idea of the budget for this flick? It seems to be very much hidden away.

I'm pretty stoked myself! I have a countdown clock on my myspace too. I will be screening the film on August 30th and will only be allowing 3 other people into the film. All others will be kicked out! haha I just hate to think that I have to endure the whole summer waiting. It will be worth it though guys!

Five months away.
No time at all.
Halloween decorations will hit stores in late July or early August.
I'll be well into the mood by the time the movie comes out.

i was actually 11 when the first halloween came out. my mom actually took me. i live in kansas city so when we saw it opening night we were some of the first people on the planet to catch it. i didnt watch tv back then or read fangoria so i had never even heard of it. it was such a different time back then. no internet to spoil the movie six months before the release, no message boards. no other movie had ever been made like it,so when the movie unfolded i was completely blown away. i litterally about shit my pants. kids today have seen everything so they are less likely to be blown away like i was. my own son who is 15 is frankly unimpressed with halloween and doesnt understand why its held up with so much esteem. my mom was really cool back then. she took me to see all the great movies that came out in the 70's. alien, jaws, star wars(the other blow my ass away movie)if you didnt catch halloween in the theaters in 78 then you really missed somthing.not your fault of course if you werent even born then, but you know what i mean.i hope RZ halloween impresses me, but i have a feeling its going to go all episode 1 on me. even seeing daniel harris nude is going to be creepy since she was like 9 when we first saw her in H4. ill go into this movie with an open mind but low expectations

That all depends on if Halloween can stay in theatres until October 31st. And that is doubtful. With it being rated R, I see it leaving most theatres by the beginning of October. Which is exactly why it should've been released in early October.

When will they ever learn? The only really good release date for a Halloween film is around HALLOWEEN. Sheesh.

There is the halloween-themed horror film TRICK 'R TREAT coming out in the beginning of October this year. I believe October 5th, to be exact.
