A local video store has original releases of the halloweens for sale for 8 bucks. Is CBS H4 of H5 worth $8. What about a original H2? I was just wondering what you guys thought...

I would say yes. To me any Halloween film, be it VHS or DVD, is worth 8 bucks to add to my collection. Being that I don't already have it of course.

I got my H4 for $2 at a pawn shop. The H2 is fairly rare. $8 isn't bad.

Almost all Hallowene fans are also collectors. I would say anything you find of any Halloween movie you find is worth a purchase. It would be a great addition to your collection.

i have found in my own collection that if i don't have it or even just want doubles most any price like that is well worth it. i add many doubles all the time but most any vhs if it is rare especially for under 10$ is well spent cash.

These, when it's really tough to come across any Halloween collectible because they are few and far between, I'd get them. Especially that cheap.

I mean look at the merch. today, DVDs (tins, past editions) are scarce, soundtracks, books especially, figures (closest outlet I have is an hour away) alot of the time I'm on eBay or Amazon or whatever to get this stuff, so yes, given it's rarity in the usual places, I'd grab it if I saw it.

There's a CBS version of HII as well. Or is it the MCA/Universal HII.

H2 was only ever released by Universal.

Oh. Well, I didn't know the original release VHS of HII was rare. I found mine with no problem. I also have the original release of H3 and H4.

But yeah, chaos_thorn, you should get them. The original releases, to me, are much more special than the newer releases.

Wasn't the original DVD version of Halloween 2 released by Goodtimes?

It was released in a snapcase and a claim case. I own both releases. It ia now out of print and the Universal release replaced it.

The clam case wasn't until 01, though.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I knew the claim case came later but didn't know exact date. Thanks :)
