I got The Devil's Rejects screener today and still plan on buying more as they become available. Does anyone else collect screeners and what do you have? Here's a quick definition of a movie screener (from yours truly):

An advance copy of a movie that comes pretty plainly packaged that they send to video stores or Oscar voters. It's almost always in fullscreen and shows a number across the bottom occassionally to report that these aren't for sale and to report them to a website or a phone number. They also go from color to black and white for a bit.

Here's my list (more notables):

The Devil's Rejects
House of 1000 Corpses
Cabin Fever
The Ring
High Tension

I have tons more, but they're all put up from the move. I should take pictures of them, but obviously can't.

I only collect "Halloween" ones. I don't care for modern-day screeners (unless it's from a "Halloween" movie). :p

Yeah, that's the big problem. People don't really see them for the collectors items that they are. I've seen the Saw screener go for $60 on eBay before.

The last one I saw was for "The Hebrew Hammer".

A buddy had it for his video store until he got the retail one. I should ask if he still has it.

I recently acquired the vhs screener for "Cherry Falls".

A good percentage of my extra "HalloweeN" screeners went out to Franchise about 2 years ago. :)

And I look at those sealed screeners daily on my way out the door. They sit right on top of my DVD racks. Near my tins of the original, 4, and 5, plus my Freddy vs. Jason screener that's still sealed.

I've never really collected these so if i said i had lots i'd be a liar but i have a couple somewhere. My uncle on ther other hands has a ton.

He's got alot of vhs screeners as well. I can't really say i'd go out of my way to get any but some would be nice i guess.

I go out of my way because of the alledged rarity of them. Some have better packaging than the regular editions. Like Saw. It has a piece of barbwire that goes around it.

i wish i had more halloween screeners and others but it is so hard here do to the fact that most of the places are afraid to sell them due to being illegal to sell or so they say. i knew one lady who owned a store and had just thrown out like 2 to 300 screeners a day before i had asked her about them. i never wanted to go and search the trash so much in my life lol

I sure hope that when the time comes (30 years from now? lol), I can collect the H9 screener. By then it will probably be the first one on DVD format.

While not a movie, I recently got a screener of the pilot episode and another episode of Smallville on VHS. I guess it was sent out for people or some group for consideration. Maybe for an Emmy or some other kind of award. I don't really know. It's pretty cool though. It's still sealed and as far as I know, Smallville does not come on VHS so it's kinda collectable.
