HaHa agreed.
My love for the movies comes from my love of the holiday itself.
I love the fall (and living in the midwest, we actually have one).
It is easily my favorite time of the year.
I love the movies because the original scared the pee out of me when I was about 10 years old. I have been hooked ever since.

Like I said on the old board, Its has to do with the way michael is mysterious and kills the way he does. Its also because the whole "halloween" or "fall" feel to the movies is cool. Fall is my 2nd favorite season. Also I like the music :)

They are scary, they have great atmosphere. Mostly all of the Movies kept the Halloween atmosphere, H20 was a little lacking, and it was nonexitent in H8, but oh well. And the later movies like H5-H8 didn't start turning into comic book spoofs of themselves like F13, NOES, Chucky and the likes. Even H8 was kept at a serious level. That is why I love the Halloween movies.
I love it because of the spookey music and the dark shadows of the trees and aswell if your out on Halloween night you are thinking about that movie.

That is exactly what I think. There is no better time of the year the trees leaves are turning, the smell in the air, cool crisp air, Halloween is my favorite Holliday because of this movie. I get realy excited about the 1st of September and it last to Halloween. I say it is for sure my favorite time of the year.

The movie Halloween definatley heightened my love for the holiday. I love the changing colors, cool nights and walking in the dark alone u can think of things that scare the shit out of you lol. If Halloween was set during Easter or Yom Kippur ( whatever that is ) it would not have near the same effect
i've always loved the holiday (even if it isn't recognized by the government i still take the day off) and have always viewed the original movie as one ofthe best horror movies ever made.
It has such a great atmoshere and simple but compelling story to it.

All of the movies are really good and I can relate to some of this because I live in a small town in Illinois and I love the time of year right around Halloween before it starts getting into winter. I can't really explain why I love the Halloween movies so much, I just do.

Simply put: The Halloween series, excluding Halloween 3.
It is a combination of things. I love the fall. I love the movies, (including H3).

Michael Myers, it would not be as good with some other killer. they hit the jackpot here.
Interesting too, In my Theory of Personality Psych course, we just learned about Jung and his theory of "the shadow" Resurrection popped right into mind!

It's a shame our government doesn't recognize this important cultural holiday. I suppose it has to do with church and government. The church has been trying to erase this holiday for centeries. Our government is ran by the church, hell, almost the whole world. That is why I think that we don't have Halloween as a national holiday of the Celtic New Year. The Irish had been shit on by this country ever since we stepped off the boat. I do think it go's deep between church and government against old Irish beliefs. There's just too many that enjoy it that it will never be totally destroyed. But they will govern it as much as possible. I'm getting on the PTA at my children's school and will attempt to make next years Fall Break come to were the children will be off school so that they can stay up through the holiday and not worry of bed time for school. It's a small step but I think it will help my community celebrate this holiday. Every year Fall Break is away from Halloween and never giving the children a vacation around it. I will also try to get this done with my local state government. Enough letters from people may make this forced to become recognized as a holiday statewide and possible nationwide. Too many Christain's view it as Satanic out of ignorance of other cultures. They don't get it that Satan is in their religion and not apart of the Gods in the old religion in Ireland. Any parents that feel the same should take the same action with their school and state government officials as well.

I think halloween 1-6 exept 3 captures the seasonal feeling perfectly. Also I was very intrigued and touched by the idea of michael possibly having good inside. Him turning good in the last film would be awsome!

Unlike 99.9% of every other slasher movie out there, Halloween is the only one that manages to scare me. The mask itself, would make me go running if I were to ever see it staring at me. The atmosphere, music score, and the way it was filmed, was just pure excellence. Even Halloween 4-H8 are somewhat spine chilling. It doesn't matter if Myers was in a Disney play, he would still give me the uneasy feeling I experience whenever he's on camera for a split second, or butchering up a victim.

Its nice to know that they're are other people that feel the same about the movie (the first one) as I do. For me its the nostalgia along with it being, IMO, the best horror film ever made. I was 10 when Halloween was playing and when they would show the previews on television I would "run" to the t.v. (no remote for my little tv) and turn the channel. I was in fourth or fifth grade at the time and we had a subsitute teacher who would tell us in detail about the movie right before the end of class each day. He went as far as to draw the houses on the chalk board so we would have some idea of the neighborhood. Even though it probably wasnt a good idea for a teacher to go into such detail with 10 yr. olds, I was intrigued, fascinated..etc. So, I think that is just one of the many reasons why I like the film so much.

I remember coming back from trick or treating when I was about 7 or 8 years old. My friend and I sitting in front of the TV counting our candy, and watching the original Halloween . I imagine that is where the connection between the holliday and The movie first came about for me. Great memories, and I've been hooked ever since.

It is more serious and not as campy like other slasher movie. And great theme tune!

In Norway, where I live, Halloween is hardly known, so I had to track down the sequels on the internet to complete my collection...
But I still haven't found H6: Producer's Cut!
Anyone know where I can buy it? In case, send me a private message...

I love the the Halloween series because of the atmosphere it has. When I watch a Halloween film I feel like it's Halloween. That is something the Nightmare On Elm Street & Friday The 13th series do not have.

That's a good question. I don't know, I guess b/c I love horror in general and Halloween is just the best of what I've seen. It is just a flawless and amazing film that is a true classic and never gets old.

I got into it when I was 8. I was hooked instantly after I saw #4. I loved #5 at the time and it legit scared me. Donald Pleasance was the non-Michael star of the series, moreso than Jamie Lee Curtis in my eyes. It is a tribute to the series that they have remained strong even after his death.

I definately look foreward to halloween because of the movies that show all day
I love the whole Halloween season, which I consider to be early September through October. Here in southern Indiana you see Halloween decorations in stores as early as mid August. I kid you not.

Yep, here in the MidWest, we take Halloween to heart. It can be very much like the film series on some years when the leaves fall a bit earlier than the norm. It's beautiful here. We like to get together with friends and make bonfires and drink, eat, smoke, and tell stories till the first person passes out. I feel sorry for the poor bastard that does. We got to fuck with em'. Of course that's much after I take my kids trick-or-treating. It's not Halloween without that. I want to give my kids all the fun that I had as a child. From what they tell me, it's their favorite day of the year. I'm sure in eight or nine years, they'll be members of this board as well.
