I was just at albris.com and found 2 of the harder to find H-books

"The Scream Factory" written by Kelly O'Rourke=$94.95

"Halloween IV" by Nic Grabowsky(the 1988 print run, which is

apparently quite rare or so I've heard)=$29.90

Hey....it's a chaotic world!

chaos.:D

Nice finds, there.
Thanks for posting them!!

I don't all care for the Scream Factory but that H4 Novel is a rare treat.

"The Scream Factory" is not worth that much.

Paul, which of the three O'Rourke books is the rarest? I was trying to tell someone that the other night but I couldn't remember.

I was thinking the same thing. Though it is the rarest of the set of three, I would never recommend someone to go beyond paying $25-30 for a mint copy.

I think some of you misunderstood.....I posted these as a Halloween service anouncement for you guys.....as of june 11, these books were available for purchase and I thought it important that my fellow soldiers in the Halloween army should know.......because we rule!!!!

I paid $40.00 shipped for all 3 and they were/are in mint condition.

I'm pretty surprised alibris wants that much. I bought a near mint condition original printing of the H3 novel from there for a insanely cheap price.

Almost $100 for "The Scream Factory"?!?! Geeeez. Well, I'm glad I got mine years ago when it was only $4. ;)

and this one I found I believe was an ex-library book, condition was rated 2 out 5....now I'm wondering if the price was a misprint and how they decide on a price!!!.....cause I wouldn't have bothered to mention that one had I known its price was so out of wack with what you all paid......oh well I think the other, h-4 first print is still a good buy for someone out there.......say....is 30 dollars too much for that one too??

losing faith in albris

It's not the website's fault. The member who put the item on there for an insane price is set to blame. I guess he/she figured it was worth more than it is in reality, and didn't bother to research.

$30 isn't bad, as long as the novel is in good or better condition. Mine came to $22 total, and that was pretty much a steal. The original H4 prints are rapidly becoming rarer, so my advice to anyone seriously in want of the book would be: go for it.

If you look long and hard enough you can find any of these Halloween books/novels for a great price. Anything $12.00 and under is a fair price for each book. That is the most I have paid for any of mine.

Not by a long shot, Paul.

The entire set of three O'Rourke novels shouldn't command that price...let alone the Scream Factory alone.

Granted, if I didn't have the other two and I was frustrated with not finding it...the idea might tempt me to spend that much(although doubtful that I'd give in to that urge).

Thanks for your heads up post about their availability, Chaosboy :)
