View Full Version : The H25 Convention, Moustapha Akkad, And General Memorabilia/Memories Of The Event

The HalloweeN 1-sided Radio Spots 45rpm.

Already a rare commodity for a collector....I was truly lucky to obtain Moustapha Akkad's signature on the dust cover at the H25 Convention. His "agent" (or whomever he was) had stated that Moustapha had stopped signing for the day, yet I approached his table with my radio spots and he signed them for me in spite of it all. I'm not sure what's rarer...the H1 radio spots themselves....or Moustapha's autograph on a HalloweeN item?

Whatever the case,I'm truly honored to have obtained his signature since the main drawback of hosting the "Myers Museum HalloweeN Memorabilia Display" was that I was unable to mingle amongst the festivities. There was no particular security at the "Museum" so I thought it best to supervise the onlookers. As it was, we'd taped off the carpet within a 2 foot zone of the display tables...yet the visitors walked up and handled the items on the tables. I about freaked when the onlookers began opening my **unread** HalloweeN novels...luckily nothing was damaged.

The old selling days were wild. Lots of goodies, yet we had so little money haha. Nice signatured item by Akkad himself, Josh.

Very nice pic, Josh! Do you have any pictures of your collection on display at H25?

Very cool item you have there! ;) Thanks for sharing the pic with us. Do you have any more nifty stuff that you have pictures of? I love checking out the collections from others so then I can drool and wish I owned it myself. :)

I would freak too if I found someone going through my books. I am anal about that just like I am anal about someone handling my dvds.

Josh do you have any wideshots of your set up? I always see close up's of specific items in various pictures. I don't think I've ever gotten to see how the entire set up looked as a whole. Then again, with your collection, it might take 5 pictures to fit it all in ;).

Hey Matt, I know it's been a while since your request, but I'd forgotten about my thread long enough for it to leave the first page of the forum and I get lazy in looking at pages 2 and up LOL

Unfortunately, the pics I have on CD are approximately 1.5 million bytes each(taken with a panoramic camera), which far exceeds the 102400 size allotment the board allows. I'll try and get some pics posted in the near future, once I get my photo editing program re-installed.

In light of the events that took the life of Mr. Akkad and his daughter, I now consider my Moustapha-signed H1 Radio Spots 45rpm to be my greatest HalloweeN acquistion(pic shown in first post of this thread).

Such a shame...
