H1 was re-released in 1979, although, from a collector's standpoint, it might as well have not been. In fact, one of only 2 known items that is uniquely attributed to this fact is the often-times mis-represented "reprint" of the 27x41 1-sheet, which also measures 27x41. The other item is a 1979 radio spot. The original release poster contained a blue/green rectangular border around the ratings box, where as the re-release poster had a white border and thus, is now dubbed a "re-print"(not to be confused with the mass produced 24x36 counterpart).
Do YOU have any re-release materials in your collection(or know of items that you're in search of?) I've only managed to find the folded-as-issued 1-sheet.

I've got the radio spots, Josh, but they say 1980, not 1979. Also, this funky trade ad that I've since deleted from my account and you can't see. :p

I think they re-released it in 1980 as well, seeing how well The Fog did that year.

Maybe that's why it says "Make it a green halloween"? Honestly I can't find any other reason for that..

AWESOME poster, Paul!! I was unaware that 1980 was the re-release year..although I have a couple of items marking the moment. The reason I even thought it was '79 is because the high priced Jerry Olinger's poster shop(of NY) website stated they had a '79 re-release poster in stock for $225.

The One, the Only, the Classic was the re-release slogan for 1979. The artwork for 'Halloween' never changed in the re-release, only some bottom credit changes.
What was really cool about 'Halloween', was how it was really a word of mouth movie. People REALLY wanted to see it unlike movies today that are released in about a MILLION screens, people had to find 'Halloween.'
