The comics were published by Chaos! comics back around 2000-2002. They were written by Jerry Beck (if I recall correctly) and are actually pretty decent. "Retribution and Descent" and "One Good Scare" were released at the 25th anniversary convention. "Retribution and Descent" was contained in the 25th Anniversary Special and OGS was a stand-alone book. The novels were young adult novels written by Kelly O'Rourke, and truth be told, they suck. They were written in the mid-90's. But they do kind of explain what Michael was up to after H6 and before H20. Hope that helps!

If you are a fan..they must be in your collection.

first of all, the novels suck ass. they are not included in the real Halloween timeline. It doesnt even follow the plotlines. hes chasing these kids for no reason. it was obviously a copycat, and not Michael Myers doing these happenings in the YA novels. and second, where can i find this retribution and descent comic?? ive never even heard of it till now?!

Indeed, I own them, but I don't like them. The only positive aspect of the books is Michael killing off all the whiny, 90210-esque characters that O'Rourke chose to drive her novels.

Considering it is officially licensed and doesn't negate anything from the movies I see no reason it shouldn't be included in the timeline. And as for Michael chasing the kids for no reason, I assume he was after them for the same reason he was after the kids in Resurrection. I'm not entirely sure why he went after the kids in the first book, but in the second he tries to kill them cuz some girl moved into his house, and in the third a bunch of kids go to make a documentary at Smith's Grove, and he goes after them. Seems like a territorial thing to me. Yes, they suck, but i think they should be included.

Dude, before asking a question that the answer was already given to, why not check out the previous posts? There were all of 6 before yours. Anyway, "Retribution and Descent" was contained in the 25th Anniversary Special which was sold at the 25th anniversary convention. It contains a bunch of interviews and other stuff, as well as the short comic story R&D. Check it out.

There. Chaos Comics published the first three Halloween comics, of which it sounds like you have the first two. The third picks up two years later, and features Tommy escaping Smith's Grove (where he's been since the end of the second comic). He meets up with Lindsay Wallace, and hijinks ensue. Michael Myers shows up and does his slaying thing, but in the end we find out this Michael isn't Michael at all...but Laurie Strode, who apparently went a bit nuts after learning she beheaded an innocent man at the end of H20 rather than Michael. Tommy is killed by her but manages to stab her in the eye. She ends up locked up in an asylum, so it works with the opening of Resurrection (though how her eye is fine is beyond me, but its negligable). And like I said, Retribution and Descent was a short comic story contained in the Halloween 25th Anniversary convention special, which besides the comic also featured a bunch of interviews, convention coverage, and even a decent map of Haddonfield. Check Ebay for it, ot even check the site, as I think thats how I got ahold of mine. I honestly can't remember since it was like 2 years ago. The story covers a Dr. Atkins who goes to interview Dr. Loomis (who, surprise, surprise is still alive) about Michael, and kind of ignores Loomis's warnings until Michael ends up hacking up a bunch of people at his hospital. The "One Good Scare" was a full-length comic featuring Lindsay Wallace and Dr. Loomis's son, who is also a psychologist. Lindsay has been checked into the loony bin (from the stress of her childhood encounter with Michael and one could argue the events from the last Chaos issue, though that isn't specifically mentioned). Dr. Loomis is her doctor, who spends awhile trying to help Lindsay overcome her fear...up until Michael shows up and kills Lindsay. Originally this was supposed to be continued in a 7-issue mini series, but it fell through so only this first issue is all we got, but its nicely self-contained so it doesn't ruin the book itself. Hope that helps.

Your welcome, glad you liked it.
PhantomPhartSadly they have to be included as does Resurrection and i agree they suck.
Agree on both points, but Resurrection didn't suck as much as Halloween III, IMHO.

Hopefully we'll get more movies (like the long talked about Halloween 9) and comics to add to it. I keep praying for them anyway. But alas, the news on Halloween 9, which was promised so long ago, is slow in coming.
