View Full Version : A Halloween Type Game

Well, I've been looking on the net looking for a good game that's like Halloween. There are none. Playstation 2 doesn't have them. Xbox doesn't have them. I can't find a computer one. So I looked at a website that this guy makes games for very cheap. He was only into the wrestling orientated games and then he's changed into other games. Well I emailed him about possibly making a Halloween game and he responded and said he couldn't do an actual game that was based off of Halloween but if he could get enough people to want one and send him ideas about a horror game he would definitely make one. So that's where we come in. This is by no means an advertisement, its just basically me trying to see a decent game that has something like Halloween. He's open to suggestions so if you email him some suggestions on how to make it like Halloween, but not close enough to where he can get sued that would be awesome. Here's the website http://www.mdickie.com I don't know him personally but he's a nice guy who responds to emails rather quickly. Again if you're interested in a game like this hit him up and tell him, give him some ideas.

That would be cool. I don't know how hard it would be though. If it can't be based off Halloween or any other horror movie it might be difficult to come up with an idea.

Well it can be like the other horror movies, its just the names and likenesses would have to be different. For instance it could be called The Babysitter Murders and the killer could wear a different mask, or something just so its not exactly like Halloween you know?

yeah good thinking. If it seemed cool I would buy it for sure.

I got it....

The Babysitter Murders-
A small town in Illinois is turned into a battleground when a maniacal killer roams the streets during the fall. You can play as the Heroine, the Hero, or the Villain in a GTA style game.

Hey cool stuff EvilWithin! It is too bad that guy cannot make a HalloweeN game but I definitely understand why. So far, I absolutely love Rabbit in Red's idea. That would be so awesome if possible.

have like the different levels are each movie and each level has the characters from that movie. and you could play michael, lori strode, or jamie lloyd. ((dont include the 3rd movie)) and if you play michael you can choose which weapon you wanna use or if your a character you just movie around and try to stay alive. the game must abide by the horror movie rule!

Well if we can figure out a way to make it like Halloween, but keep him from being sued for using the Halloween series then we need to. Atleast some kind of slasher and teens or a teen in the woods or in a town, or something. Any other ideas?

A halloween game wouldn't be very marketable(sp?) I'm sure no one would try to attempt such a project.

EvilWithin
02-10-2005, 10:49 AM
Why wouldn't it be very marketable? This guy is a small games guy. I know why a big company wouldn't but someone smaller selling it for cheap could make a nice killing because of the cult following it has and just the fact that no one has made anything like it. I mean how many times can a game come out where you kill zombies? Its the same crap, different name. I think the GTA style game where you are the killer using stealth by hiding in the shadows and keeping a low profile until everything is set up would be awesome. But, no big company would ever take on the task.

I E-Mailed Anthony at HalloweenMovies regarding this topic a while back and he replied by saying that there IS a Halloween game in the works but it was on hold for the time being.

Later I got another E-Mail where he said the game is as of right now.."benched" and wont be worked on for a while. Where he gets his sources I don't know.

they could have a Michael vs. Jason video game, where you choose to play as Michael, Jason, or a character you made up and travel between Haddonfield and Crystal Lake GTA style. Wouldnt that be fun? Just making out with someone in Crystal Lake while Jason is watching you? Or sneaking up behind Jason as Michael?

The guy from mdickie.com is having a vote on his next game. Of course he can't do an exact replica of the Halloween game, but there is a category for a character based horror game which should be a lot like Halloween.... if you want to vote go to his website and vote for horror.

Just warning everyone, this is a pretty long read.I dont think it would be that hard to make a halloween game for the new consoles, michael could be the main character.the gameplay could be like that of the hitman series where you take to the shadows and just about every object around your character is a weapon, the location of couse is haddonfield so they could map out the town and make it into a interactive place that includes people walking in town, people driving, dogs barking, stores and houses you can go into, and many other things from the films such as the farm house and the hospitals. The stores for example could have masks in them from each movie you could steal, but be careful because a frightened person could call the police and they could rough you up,thats where the health system comes into play,of course we know michael cant die so it could be more of like a damage/hurt meter and the only way to heal is to rest or eat and under that meter could be a rage meter used when someone makes him even more mad than he already is,maybe even a stealth meter that show if you can be seen when your looking out a window or just hiding in some bushes.Since michael walks slow, why not be able to steal/drive cars, why not add a radio in each car where you can listen to classic songs from the films.the story for the game would be the toughest part of the game but maybe the game could span each movie and as the movies change, the town has more people, stores, newer looking cars,etc...so the town look doesnt the same throughout and get boring.maybe michael needs clues to find out where his victims are at and he can stalk them, and get clues from inside the victims friends and famlies houses.Well thats all i can think of for now,but comments are welcome on my ideas.

if someone makes a horror game it should be like the def jam fighting games but with all the infamous baddies in horror franchises, myers, jason, freddy, chucky, alien, predator, it (the clown), etc, it would be brilliant and it would probably sell out in no time

I would really prefer a game that is like what LegendKiller explained and not one that is a horror icon fighting game. I would love to walk around Haddonfield as Michael Myers. It would really be a fun game. I wouldn't think that it is too impossible for the game to be made. If the popularity of the Halloween series is boosted because of the next film, there's a chance that game companies might want to create a game title for it.

The Halloween game was on the Atari system. I have a shit load of those games and still have my old Atari system, but never had the Halloween game.

I think there should be a "Horror Stars" fishing game made, whereby you primarily choose your character, from a wide selection of horror stars, Myers, Jason, Freddy, Pinhead etc. Then you choose the venue in which you wish to fish at, e.g. the Lake associated with the Jason films. However, the twist would be that no fishing rods are used, instead the weapon or "Power" associated with the horror star would be used to catch fish. For instance Myers would use his knife, Freddy would use his blades, Leather Face would use his chainsaw, and so on.
I believe this would be a real hit with both anglers and horror fanatics alike.
An extra feature could also be implemented into the game upon completion. This would be upto the developers to decide on of course, but a good idea would be that of a battle mode for multi-player action. You and upto 3 friends could have a handicap match against, none other, than John Wilson, i.e. a 4 on 1 against a true legend of a fisherman. The battle would end when either JW has been slaughtered, or you have turned the console off because you cannot handle JW's powers, which would be non-stop laughing from the start of the battle to the end.

i would be against a fishing game, but i like the idea of picking a killer and going to there venue and kill ppl there.

http://www.halloweenflash.com has a section dedicated to Halloween games online.
There is a new 3-D game by PigFarmer Productions in which you walk around the dark streets of Haddonfield in the new beta download.
If you have an emulator on your PC you can play an uploaded version of the old Atari game.

Sorry, but you must now register to recieve downloads such as the games.
The site is currently down due to bandwidth restrictions but if you go to the bottom of the site click "SITE UPDATES" and it will take you to a page in the site.
Then click "LOGINCREATE" and register.
You can then later check the side box to the left of the page and find Halloween Downloads where you will find wallpaper, music, and of course, the games.

;)
