I believe that I watched them all in order but I didn't buy them in order. I loved renting them in order and even though H3 had nothing to do with the series, I still loved it and progressed on. I am actually really happy I went in order with this series for some reason. For those of you who did not watch them in order...what was it like seeing them all out of order? Honestly, I don't think I have ever seen a series out of order.

I'm getting a serious case of deja vu while in this thread. I guess we had it at the UHMB, it just seems so recent though. On to my list...
Halloween- This is where it all began for me. I was lucky to catch it in all it's grainy, full frame hack, and crop glory on the USA network. It was at this point where I concluded that this Michael Myers guy is the real deal and is simply 3 steps above any other killer.
From there they went as follows...

I am DEEPLY offended by those comments, sir.
I caught Halloween 4 on one of the cable movie stations one night when 'the parents' were out late. So that's how I was able to see it in its entirety. I was scared shitless after watching, I made sure all the doors were locked before I went to bed (or attempted to anyway). Eventually, I got to rent Halloween 6 and Halloween 5. The text glaring on the H6 cover said "THE SCARIEST HALLOWEEN OF THEM ALL!" had me antsy on what awaited me. It delivered on the thrills; I certainly wasn't expecting to see that farm death scene in the beginning.

There are so many incarnations of the movie dvd, combined with shady sellers that you can't ever be sure what you're going to get. With Mike you know exactly what you're getting, no chance of getting screwed over. He offers that good nose candy.
Ask politely though. He's been busy lately :).

It was kind of neat. It was fun imagining what happened in the other movies after I saw 5. I watched 5 weeks before 6 came out at the show, but my mom was strict and I wasn't allowed to see 6 at the show. Then it took over a year for it to come out on video. It really left me hangin. I always knew the premise of 3, and that it wasn't in the same universe as the others, but it was still fun to watch. 2 I taped off of USA, 1 I rented, but the copy my video store had was the tv version, so it was longer, and there was no boobies, no weed, and some added scenes. I don't remember when I saw the theatrical cut of 1. I think I bought it before h20 came out, and I was like "where's the whole scene w/ loomis in the beginning?" h20 was the movie I was most excited to see at the show . . . ever! Needless to say I was comepletely let down. I knew h8 was gonna suck, but I couldn't resist seein it at the show.

Cool avatar. Crazy ass buckethead and his crazy ass diminished scales
Thanks,
We need to introduce more Halloween fans to Buckethead. He's got a Michael Myers inspired mask after all. The story goes that many years ago he went to the local store and picked up that mask because it was the closest thing they had to a MM mask. Then he stuck the KFC bucket on his head, and looked in the mirror. "I'm Buckethead." He's an amazing guitarist that is a bit of an enigma and has a passion for Halloween/TCM/ and horror in general. He has a song called The Shape vs. Buckethead.
I'd start a thread on him if I could start threads.

you want something weird. well when I watched Chucky movies. he did scare me. and so did Jason and Freddy. they only one that didn't scare me was Michael. I don't know why but I always just liked him better then all the others. now if thats not weird. but no Michael never did Scare me. like the only things that made me jump in the HalloweeN movies was the big bang from the music when something happened. that was the only thing that made me jump. I was like more then less on Michael's side like get them. LoL I like all the stars but I don't sit their like o get away and crap. I'm like yeah get that bitch. LoL I'm just like that. I don't know why Michael had some kind of thing that I liked. I guess the fact that no matter what someone does to him. he don't die from it. I liked that. but I'm Grown up- I know that all the stuff is fake and stuff. I'm just a hardcore too the bone HalloweeN fan

Halloween 4
Halloween 5
Halloween 3
Halloween 1
Halloween 2
Halloween 6
H20

I remember catching H4 on Pay-per-view back in 89, then having the next few months until H5 came out feeling like an eternity. Next was H3 because Fox was always showing it on television for a few years straight on Halloween...I remember thinking "Man...I've watched this film for over an hour...they're really procrastinating Michael's appearance. Then H1 after my friend got it on VHS - I think it was the old blockbuster version. Then of course I HAD to see H2 afterwards. Then we went on opening night to see H6, H20, and H:R in theaters on each of their opening nights.

No way...I had no idea that FOX once had the rights to Halloween III, this is yet another surprise. I know that WB aired it for some time, but FOX? Damn, I'd have liked to see that. When was this?

ya same here. I dont remember any of the Halloweens being in the cinema, not even HR. I only heard of the Halloween series in November!i dont no how i didnt hear about HR. I cant wait to go and see H9. Well actually if it is an 18 then i wont be able to cos i am only 15 lol. I kinda hope it is an 18 tho cos HR has been the only Halloween 15. If H9 doesnt come out until 2008 then i will be able to go and see it, and this would also be Halloween's 30th anniversary. When does the 25 years of teror dvd thing come out cos it is nearly 30 years of terror.lol

Hello all. The "Introduce Yourself" thread was closed so I would have done this there. I used to be a member named "otto" back about a year or so ago. It's nice to see everyone again. Anyway, here's my list, and I know the years in which I first saw them. Also, the first was a H2 & H3 TV double feature on WGN Chicago in 1986 around Halloween time. I was 11 years old at the time.
H2 TV (1986)
H3 TV (1986)
H4 Theatrical (1988)
H1 Theatrical (1990)
H5 Theatrical (1990)
H2 Theatrical (1991)
H6 Theatrical (1995)
H7 Theatrical (1998)
H2 Ultimate (2001)
H8 Theatrical (2002)
H6 Producer's (2003)
H3 Theatrical (2004)
Good to be back everyone.

Heres the order I saw them in.
Halloween: H2O
Halloween
Halloween II
Halloween 4
Halloween 5
Halloween 6
Halloween III
Halloween: Resurrection
I had seen previews for Halloween H2O on television in 1998, and it looked really good. Of course, I didn't know what it was about. I saw Laurie's head in the window, and it made me think, of course, that the movie took place under water, on a sub. I mean, come on, H2O... That's WATER for goodness sakes! LOL.. Little did I know that it meant, Halloween: 20 Years Later. My mother actually said, "Hey, if you liked that, you will probably like the original." And I loved it! I watched it over and over! I got so caught up in the first one, that it took me a long time to see the second one. I was satisfied with just seeing the first and H2O! The series made more sense to me obviously. Anyhow, I rented Halloween II one day, and I liked it. Probably not as much as the first, but I really like it now. I didn't even watch Halloween III until years later. I guess I first saw the third about two to three years ago. I went out and rented Halloweens 4 and 5 together, and watched them, and then rented Halloween 6. I was enjoying renting them all. Of course, now I OWN all of them. I really enjoyed Halloween 4, but from there, the sequals kinda took a nose dive. Halloween 5, at first, didn't make much sense. It does now, but I was an ammature Halloween fan. When I saw Halloween 6 (which I liked) I thought, "Wait a minute. What happend to the little girl." The story went in a totally different direction. To sum it all up, I loved H2O and the first one for a really long time. Took me a little while before I rented the others!

Agreed, the atmosphere in Halloween 3 is very much like Halloween and Halloween 2. Even though the storyline was different, the overall mood and feeling was a familiar one.
I've only watched it a handful of times since my old girlfriend bought it for me on video, back in 2000 or so. I picked it up on dvd close to a year ago but haven't watched that version yet. But I've always liked the movie.

I watch it all the time...
Just the first 15 minutes of it though, Then I turn it off lol
I should really make it into a 15 min movie, then it would be alot better :D
The first 15 min are the worst for me. Don't get me wrong. The rest of the movie is awful. But as far I am concerned, the Laurie/Michael storyline was wrapped up at the end of H20.

I think I might be one of the few who actually saw them in order the first time.
Anyways, I think whoever hasn't watched part 3 should give it a viewing, I find it somewhat better than Resurrection.

H1-I think it would have been about 1983 the first time. 5 year's old. Scared shitless! Loved it.
Fast foward several year's to one summer where myself and a bunch of friends saw H4, H5 and then H2 in the space of a week or two. We all became fans.
Later that year viewed H3 for the first time on Christmas night.
H6 was next in the year it came out followed by H:20 three year's later.
2007-H:R and then RZH.

Literally sounds like how I became a Nightmare On Elm Street fan.
I too saw the Producer's Cut of Halloween 6 before I saw the theatrical version.

I was talking about this today with a friend of mine. Usually I tend to remember having seen the films in order, but upon thinking about it I don't think that's actually the case. After racking my brain to try to remember I think I saw the films in the following order: Halloween 2, Halloween, Halloween 4, Halloween 5, Halloween 6, Halloween 3, Halloween H20, and then Halloween Resurrection.

I bought H4 or H5 and never watched it. I forget which one. Media play only had one or the other.
H1 friend let me borrow his VHS verison. When I had my friend and his older sister visit I put it in and he and I played Sega while she watched it and would tell us when there were boobie shots lol. Which we would come out running and rewind it following by pushing pause on the nude scenes lol.

1. Halloween

3. Halloween III
4. Halloween 4
5. Halloween 6
6. Halloween 5
7. Halloween H20
8. Halloween: Resurrection
