Here's a place to report those crazy auctions that you see from time to time that are from the series. Here's the one I just saw.

Halloween Extended DVD (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=617&item=6357949315&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)

Did you notice this: "THIS DVD IS A COPY OF THIS OUT OF PRINT MOVIE"?

Or how bout this one that seems to have no ceiling on absurdity? You can get this from a certain person for somewhere near $10. Homecoming (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=617&item=6356409046&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW) I do have to admit to loving that picture that they used for the front cover, but it's not worth $51 (at the time I read it).

Crazy stuff.

The best one I ever saw from memory was someone selling a "replica" H1 butcher knife. They had found it in their new house after moving in and since it "looked like" one used in "Halloween", put it on eBay. Even with numerous "this is not a prop, just a look-a-like we found in our house" messages and disclaimers on their auction, it still went for over $100.

People are idiots.

Exactly. They're getting what they pay for. I just remember that and wish half these people would have bought stuff from me when I was still selling. heh

I think I should head over to the dollar store and pick up some butcher knives and start selling.

I remember seeing an auction maybe about a year & a half ago of someone saying that they were selling the trenchcoat that Loomis wore in Halloween & Halloween 2.I remember the pic was of this trenchcoat hanging up on a door.I know myself & a few other members emailed this guy about this item but as far as i remember he never replied to anyone emails well he never replied to mine anyway.I can't remember what the asking price was or even how much it went for.

As for someone paying that much for a knife it gives me an idea that i should buy a torch and sell it on ebay claiming this is the torch that Mr Garrett used in HII.

cheers

I still get a kick out of that one auction that's been re-listed(WITH previous winners,no less) for about 2 years now----the one that's the "Original Halloween Poster SIGNED by Four" LOL I mean...just how many legit autographs could that seller have gotten before Donald died? LOL What's worse, the poster is obviously the 24x36 re-print...of which didn't get distributed until 3 years *after* the late great Donald Pleasence passed on.

I was going to use that pick for the cover I made my Resurrection project. The only reason I used the other one instead was due to the fact that it wasn't as popular as the one on his/her DVD cover art.

If you really like the cover art I'll make one for you and ship it for free..

I know one thing, i'm damn glad I'm a knowledgable buyer when it comes to this. Otherwise I'd be getting ripped left and right. Anyways, about that auction... it's funny, the whole thing makes it sound as if this is some impossible to find item. As far as I know they're still in print. I see them at dvd stores still.

Just a side note. I think the cover art for the extended edition is probably the coolest ever. I like it even more than the theatrical poster art.

That looks cool as shit. It seems to be an australian set (if it's real). I think I read that some of the R4 halloween dvd's look like shit as far as video goes. Hopefully Josh or Mr. Taft can give us some input. The layout of the set looks awesome though.

That does seem to be the Aussie set. I remember Taft said something about some of the movies having shitty extras that don't even really go with the movie. It does look pretty nice though. The only reason it looks like it's Australian to me is because it's in the same style as the H1-3 3 pack I saw last night.

Remember folks, if something looks too good to be true, it probably is. If you find a good deal on a DVD and it doesn't have a bidder already, read the whole description.

MrTaft
01-17-2005, 08:31 PM
That is the Australian boxset that was released late last year. I have one and it's sealed, so I haven't looked at the discs. I have the single editions of H4 and H5 that came out at the same time from the same company, and it has the extras listed on the back. H4 doesn't have the Anchor Bay doco, and in its place is some shitty fan-film that has nothing to do with anything. It's only called "Ultimate" because it's really the only thing available down here, and the earlier triple boxset (H1-H3) released by the same company was a joke.

But, that's the real deal, and a nice item for any collector!

How's this for crazy..........

OMAHA, Neb. - A Web-page designer who auctioned off the use of his forehead for advertising space is letting it go to his head.

Andrew Fischer, 20, of Omaha, who put his forehead for sale on eBay as advertising space, received $37,375 on Friday to advertise the snoring remedy, SnoreStop.

Fischer will display the SnoreStop logo on his forehead for one month.

“I look forward to an enjoyable association with Andrew — a man who clearly has a head for business in every sense of the word,” SnoreStop CEO Christian de Rivel said.

“People will always comment on something out of the ordinary,” Fischer said in his sales pitch. “People like weird.”

But there were limits: He refused from the outset to be the conduit for any message or product deemed tasteless or unacceptable in traditional advertising formats.

My favorite bits on this Wanted poster are:

Height: 5'7" (Michael is shorter than my girlfriend)

Eye color: N/A (Michael has no eyes)

Age: N/A (apparently, Michael has no age, either)

Last Scene: The community of of Haddonfield, Indiana (Where to begin with this one? Not only is "seen" now spelled "scene"...apparently, Haddonfield has jumped the Illinois/Indiana border. Being a resident of Indiana, you'd think I would have heard about this.)

It's nice to know that people put real effort and quality into their work. Sad thing is, four dumb motherfuckers bid on the thing. True, it only went for 30 cents...but the shipping was $3.00. Shit, you can buy a pack of Marlboros for that...that way you can have something to smoke while you sit at your computer and make a much better Wanted poster yourself.

That wanted poster was crap, a piece of used toilet tissue looks better. I love the way that people describe horror related items on eBay as, "Perfect for the horror fan in your life!". Whatever, your just trying to peddle some crap that you hope people will pay for.

Someone did make a wanted poster on this board, and I didn't even find that very good. Maybe I find the idea of a Wanted poster for Myers' stupid, especially when they have pictures of him with his mask on. Aren't wanted posters supposed to be with a picture of the person's face -- for identification?

I can kinda of see how one of them looks like the classical "Renaissance" interpretation of Jesus...the others look more like either

b) Nothing whatsoever

That is, without doubt, the dumbest fuckin' auction I've ever seen. Good find, Supes.

I checked their feedback and someone actually stated that the homemade "Freddy vs. Ghostbusters" DVD was pretty good...(I know, unfrigginbelievable). Got me curious though, has anybody seen this DVD?

Silverpsycho

LOL, man those dvds are funny! However, those people are suckers if they are paying those prices for them since one of the buyers stated that the "Batman vs. Alien vs. Preditor" movie is only 6 minutes long. Plus the fact that they are only for PC sucks as well. But I must admit that I am quite curious as to what they all look like...especially the "Freddy vs. Ghostbusters" one. I bet they are hilarious...I am just not willing to pay $10 right off the bat or even bid the initial $6 for that matter.

Anyone who has bought one of those, please don't be shy. Tell us what they are like or where these videos can be found on the net. :D

At least the tiny disclaimer at the end of the item tells the truth. That is a joke item, it would look good in a garden flipped over, without the "Jesus wuz here" showing. That's about all the use of it. Wonder how much it is to post a rock?

I am simply trying to figure out what this is about. The title of the Thread is "Crazy E-Bay Auctions" and I haven't seen this before. I am trying to understand what you guys are describing w/ the posts telling what this is but my question is: Is the package just a soundtrack w/ generic Halloween songs (Party Songs) or ACTUAL Halloween songs. I mean from the movies - with Michael as a "host"? How does that work?? Does anyone know?

But, like Clark said, its just a cd with Halloween-themed music and interactive content. :)

Oh and I changed your link so it would work. In the quote I mean. :)

Thanks alot.

So it was what mixes of the Halloween movie scores or just music you can play to get u in the seasonal mood of halloween?
well i can read the link i guess. Thanks.

The next part all seem to be a synopsis...

1. in the delicate children salt the little Michael Myers murders its sister middle in the Halloween night kaltblütig. Thereupon it becomes on manner into a closed institute. fifteen years He leaves out of which institute to escape. He turns, pursues of his psychiatrist Dr. Loomis, into his home town Haddonfield back. Unrecognized He waylays in the next Halloween night of youth in order to kill him. Especially the insignificant babysitter Laurie must fear around her life.

John Carpenters HALLOWEEN is the Horrorklassiker simply. Here an entirely new threat was created, that the gloomy, inhuman and irresistible killer that kills totally feeling loose everything, what places itself it into the way. This idea found many imitations, but HALLOWEEN remains an absolutely unequaled parade example in gloomier, uncanny atmosphere and on the tip driven tension. 2. although Dr. Loomis fired repeatedly on the insane Michael Myers, creates it the killer yet to escape on mysterious manner. The young Laurie Strode is delivered with a shock first once into a hospital. Yet the true Horror begins now first, for Michael Myers pursues Laurie fanatical further and kills each that places itself it into the way. The night of the grey reaches its bloody highpoint.

3. a man is agitated of unknown through a city in north California, finally breaks he with a strange Halloween-costume in the hand together. Shortly on that it is murdered on bestial manner. All this seems to hold together with the toy manufacturer Silver Shamrock, whom its monster-costumes banishes through a gigantic advertising campaign everywhere in the country. The mysterious boss of the toy firm has teufliches in the sense, the entire grey becomes not until the Halloween-night clear..

4. Michael Myers lives! For horror of Dr. Loomis, the "devil can escape on two legs" out of an ambulance and makes himself on the way to its last boch of living relative, the young Jamie. On time to Halloween zettelt the insane killer a ghastly battle festival on, and all kills places itself, what it into the way..

5. it is again there..

Eviler than ever before! The devil with the white costume and the blue smock murders further. Again it saw Halloween. slits Michael Myers on its niece shaken by nightmares Jamie. Only Dr. Loomis can place "Makerikas psycho path Nr. 1" a trap and hold off it therefrom to process the Teenager of the area to Hackleisch.

Classic legendary the bloody continuation to John Carpenters - by Dominique Othenin-Girard (" grandmas IV-the awakening"). With Donald Pleasence (" Halloween 1,2+4"), Danielle Harris (" gloomy legends") and Donald L. Shanks as Michael Myers.

6. in the house of the verfluchten family Myers to Haddonfield, where once the monster Michael all its relatives meuchelte, live now the unsuspecting Strodes. Whose oldest daughter Kara the feeling has already for some time that in the villa all with right things does not close, but stands as the annual Halloween-day, be confirmed its worst fears. That badly is returned, and it rages more badly than before.

7.20 years passed since Laurie Strode (Jamie lee Curtis) was able to escape its murdering brother Michael Myers in the Halloween-night. It has a new name and a new life. Tepid lawn colleague and love (Adam Arkin) does nothing know of its past. As the Halloween-night again seam, is plagued Laurie of evil misgivings. And with Halloween, Michael Myers returns in order to conclude its bloody work. It comes to the battle on life and death..

8. MICHAEL MYERS IS BACK!

Laurie Strode (Jamie lee Curtis) stands yet always under psychological observation because it believes to have killed years ago its mentally deranged brother and murderer Michael Myers. In the mean time things new, remarkable however advance in the left and decayed house of the killer. 6 young students can be recruited for the project "Dangertainment" in order to produce for an internet-action special shock effects. When them however deliberately becomes, that it exactly in the house with that "deaths play", in which with Michael Myers once the polished Horror reigned, the polished panic are awake gradually.

THE NO-FEAR-GENERATION IN THE FACE OF THE GREY!

For contrary to all opinions, Michael Myers is not dead..

And what begins originally as a spaßiges "Grusel-Entertainment", will survive now for all to the albtraumhaften fight for that - and entirely America sits before the screens and views to..

And now it goes..........

Other articles for example the Halloween Fahne!!!

Hope this helps.

Did you hear on the news about the woman who sold her name on Ebay? She agreed to let whoever won the auction to legally change her name, and she would keep it. After several bids and over $15,000, a casino won the bidding and changed her name to their website. It's amazing how people are willing to jump on such a thing, odd as it is.

They could have been thinking of a name before it was born. I don't think she is 2 years old yet. But if she is 2 already then why not wait another year or two and let her pick her own name. Can you imagine what a person can come up with especially since you will never see the girl in real life. And that is if this isn't a huge scam.

Hey Paul/Josh, I've been wanting an h2 US one sheet for quite some time, but didn't want to pay $50 plus for one. I found this auction for a folded one. The opening price and shipping look fair. The picture is small, but the poster looks pretty damn good.

I was wondering if you guys could take a quick look at the link and provide any advice as to whether or not it's worth bidding on. I'm always looking for good buys with halloween stuff so I try to check with one of you or both if I can.

thanks guys! I see it has gained 2 bigs since my post. I may or may not bid on it now. I honestly don't want to pay too much for one of these. There are still other options.

Speaking of H2 stuff. This here looks like a good deal. I'm not sure how rare these old CED's are.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41676&item=6410756444&rd=1 I emailed the seller of that and asked if there was ANYTHING at all wrong with the poster and i got this reply: "There are no rips, tears or spots on the poster. It is 100% unused."...

As for that CED, THAT is such a tempting buy!

Sweet Yensed. Thanks for the info.

The poster seemed to look OK, the only concern I had was the condition of the creases. Sometimes these folded posters can look like hell if they've been folded and unfolded many times over the years.

EDIT: I just through a couple low bids out there and they aren't getting above the current max bid. While I really want an H2 one sheet, i'm not foaming at the mouth over it, so I think i'll wait for the next one to come along.

1982. Are you going for that? I've been looking for one to match with my H3 CED.

Go for that poster. I'll guess it's worth risking. Everything seems to check out.

One-sheet posters from the U.S. are becoming impossible to find. I'm going crazy trying to track down H4 and H5 for Wilbur and Shanks to sign at the convention. I'd kill to have those framed and on my wall. When they do come on for auction, the prices skyrocket. H2 is pretty much the same, but I'm even pickier with them because I'd prefer a rolled copy. Eh, Ebay is not what it used to be I suppose.

Eh, maybe some do. The images on all the covers just tweaked over the years, so it would be hard to actually spot one from the 80s. This could be the release from 1994 since there are no credits at the bottom of the cover; they're not too hard to find. (The same thing applies for The Final Chapter). I wonder if there is a VHS cover of the movie with the new DVD artwork on it, like JTM.

How do I know all this stuff? lol

BTW, it would be hilarious is there's a Child's Play movie in that box, hehe ;)

I have a copy of A New Beginning on VHS from 1988. When was the first VHS of the movie released, would you know Matt?

Either its year of theatrical release or 1986.

No, I don't care for it. It uses the later series font that is really sharp and has the 3 looking like a sickel. With that awful red and yellow cover it appears as if the movie is direct to video. Thats the impression I get from it.

My question is this: where are you going to find a rolled copy of H2? To my knowledge, they all were folded. I could be wrong.

In exceptional circumstances, posters were taken by NSS employees, etc, before they were sent through the folding machine. So a select few are available. Very, very few.

For some reason, I dig this cover. The outline of the killer with the hellish background may not top the iconic, regular one, but this one also works for me...and I even think the sickle-like font is cool. Kind of gives it a scary edge, and I do admite the simplicity. Of course nothing beats the camp artwork in the shape of a body.

Vincent, one may be possible to find, but add to the wait factor the money you might have to shell out for it, and it will be far easier getting a folded one. Plus, there will never be any question as to whether you have an original one, which always happens with rolled posters (of that era).

H-Field Hero

I have no problem with folded posters as long as the creases are not worn so much that they how white 'fray' lines across the folds. As long as a folded poster was properly taken care of it would look just fine on display.

EDIT: It's back again fellas! Right here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7531276880&category=32988&rd=1#ebayphotohosting) is this idiotic auction that only a very green collector could fall for. Fake autographs on a poster thats CLEARLY a reproduction. This guy should be banned from ebay.

Here's a link that might help.
http://www.ohmb.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1396&highlight=HOMECOMING Homecoming is Resurrection before it became Resurrection with only a few slight differences. Ask Mike (Franchise) about it, some of us have that version already.

And the Michael....I have that but it doesn't talk !! When you flip the switch it's voice activated so when there's sound it starts playing the Halloween theme and you can hear him breath. Hope that helps.

I'm yet to read the novel yet, although I do plan on it someday. I'm not much of a bookworm so it takes me awhile to sit down and get started on one. I remember picking it up and reading a few pages one day though... I was surprised to see Loomis dropping the F bomb haha.

Loomis is surprisingly much different in the novel. You can tell he's not as calm and collected. Although the novel isn't bad, I think the ending was completely ruined. As soon as Laurie discovered the three bodies, it just went downhill from there. The ending is pretty lame as well. Kind of reminds me of the JAWS novel, haha. Plus, the fact that Michael's mask is written as having red lips and purple eyes, over an olive jumpsuit, doesn't help too much either.

There is one very interesting part when Loomis and Brackett are in the squad car, and the sheriff begins to reminisce about Michael's loony grandfather, who was hanged as a result. Outfieldguy made a thread about it. One of my favorite extra scenes from the novels.
