View Full Version : Halloween Screeners
Franchise

I've pretty much made this decision to go ahead and get rid of my Halloween screeners that aren't sealed. If anyone is interested, send me a PM. I'm also willing to work out trades as well. Here's a list of what I'm looking for:
A Michael Myers cardboard cutout standee
Foreign sealed releases on DVD (Please state which ones you have)

Mike, there's no way a screener is worth anything close to a standee. ;)

I'm guessing it's a carboard cut out of Michael Myers.
I remember seeing a Darth Vader standee when the Star Wars box set on dvd was being released.
cheers

Thanks for letting me in on the info, everyone! :) I figured they were cutouts of Michael but wasn't sure whether they were fanmade or you could buy them in stores. I'm surprised I never heard of these.

I'm surprised I never heard of these. You could never buy them in stores. They were sent to the Blockbuster stores to promote the 3 taoe box set. I highly doubt they sold them to anyone...more then likely employees got them and either keep them for their collection or sold them on e-bay....or they were thrown away.

Standees are made all over the world for any kind of VHS/DVD release, and "Halloween" standees were not limited to Blockbuster Video and just one kind. There are at least three different ones I know of for different "Halloween" VHS releases at Blockbuster (not the 3-VHS set, and one of which I have), and several from the UK and Australia.

Sure as hell was. That thing is awesome. Looks great in your house!!
Now that I know what standees are, my dad used to have one of Lionel Richie, but my mom made him throw it out. lol That thing scared the hell out of me as a child when he'd take it out of the closet.

When I was a little kid, yeah, especially since I didn't know who the heck he was. Something about it just frightened me all the time.
Wow, you have a lot of standees! :)

I still kick myself for not having bugged a friend more for their standee which is different than theoutfieldguy's. I remember it was promoting some product on it and had an orange background too (I think). They kept it in their garage on top of a heap of stuff. If it was mine, I would proudly display it. It just sucks knowing they still have it since they are not even a HalloweeN fan. Arrrg! :(
However, I do have a Stormtrooper one and a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one. The TMNT one is by far my fave since it features all four turtles and it's kind of rare since it was made to promote the first film. My friend managed to snag one for me when I was in the 5th or 6th grade...damn that was forever ago! A Michael one sure would look sweet though. You are one lucky fan theoutfieldguy! :D

Hey that's awesome! What happened to it? I used to have a promotional cardboard standee from Burger King that was for the animated movie Anastasia. I loved the movie so much when I was younger and the whole standee thing came with all the toys in it and was really displayed nicely. It even had a train on a motorized round section that was fun to watch. Sadly, I had no room for it any longer so I just recycled it and threw the toys out. I video taped it before doing so, but it sucked while I tore it apart and got rid of it. I would have done Ebay with it, but it was too much of a hassle and the shape of it wasn't the best. However, I did keep another promotional item (from same movie) that hangs in my room. It was a mobile hanging thing featuring all the characters. It dangles from my ceiling and I manage to run into it once every other day or so...fun, fun :D Yes, I have way too much crap. I am a major pack-rat!

I have Luke Skywalker standee from A New Hope. I got it at a local comic book/card shop in my mall, but the shop has since gone out of buisness.

Well i threw them away eventually when i stopped liking power rangers and such. I went from Power Rangers to Beetleborgs ahahahha. Then i just stopped...and went to horror whoot. Also, i had the rangers on the floor (we were moving) and my dog came in and ripped the pink rangers leg off. Ack.
