Came out in 2000, limited edition, and quite rare. Buy it while you can. The H5 tin came out the following year.

I got the H4 Tin at Best Buy, I can't remember when though, it'd have to have been around 2000-2001.

I have the H5 tin. I've seen the H4 set on Buy.com for a decent price. Not sure if you can still get it there though.

Hey! Were you Phsychoboys on the old board???

Actually, the Halloween 5 tin came out in 2000, and the Halloween 4 tin came out in 2001. I don't know why Anchor Bay released them in that order, but that's what they did. I like the booklet that came with the Halloween 5 tin (the pics are great), but the Halloween 4 tin was a big disappointment.... the booklet that came with that one was very sad.

Yeah, the H5 tin is supposed to be a lot better. I recently saw an H4 one on Ebay - sealed - but forgot to bid on it lol. However, I'd much rather have the H5 one because, as you have said, the booklet has many great pictures and simply has more to offer. They're both worth getting, simply because they're a limited collector's edition item, but prices can go high on an auction site.

Yeah, I can tell you that as well. I'm not big on collecting Limited Editions, but if you can get them, I say get them. I got 2 of each because they were so cheap at one time. I wouldn't pay over $20 per though.

Depends on if you really want them. You hear of people paying outrageous prices for other items, but me? I wait for the real deals.

The cheapest I've ever seen an H4 tin at a non-auction website is $27. You can still but it too. Internet place. They sell all new items. Shipping might be a pain in the ass though. Or you could special order on BestBuy.com - the cost is $35 I think.

It's funny, at Sam Goodys, they had one. I got it this year for Christmas. I was excited! I haven't opened it yet. It's pretty pricey for just a tin and a booklet compared to just getting the dvd, but oh well. Now I'm going to have to look for H5.

MrTaft
12-29-2004, 01:35 AM
You people are crazy. Won't buy it unless it's under $20? You may find one eventually, but it's easier to just pay $10 extra and buy one on the spot. They're all going to be worth the same in years time.

I have the H5 tin, but I'm looking for the H4 tin. I saw it at Best Buy a couple of years ago, but I cheaped out and bought the one without the tin. Worst movie buying decision I ever made.

I love the tins that the films come in but I was so disappointed to find that the dvds come in cheap cd cases instead of the regular dvd case with cover art and everything. The booklets are nice things to have but not really necessary.

I think the thing I keep kicking myself about was the limited amount of television version dvds packaged with Halloween film cels complete with plaque inside the shrink-wrap (from Best Buy only I think). I remember holding one in my hands then placing it back on the shelf. I had zip money at the time...but I could of had my mom pay for it at the time and just pay her back later. It's the worst thinking about that moment...arrrg!

I heard about the CD cases, and agree, it's kind of disappointing. The tins are great to own because they're limited edition - and collector's like me go nuts over that - and the booklets feature photos and other stuff we may not have seen before. Apparently the H4 one is a disappointment, but H5 isn't. It would be interesting to see what they both have to offer.

Those Extended Edition film cell editions are really cool. You can still find them on Ebay, but they're usually no less than $30. Luckily, most of them you would find are still sealed. How much money were they going for in Best Buy?

I believe they were released in Best Buy for the typical $19.99 price. I am not 100% sure about that but that sounds about right. I probably would have it sealed to this day if I had gotten a hold of it. I guess I will keep a look out for those cels on Ebay though. There are plenty of film cels, but I have rarely run into the ones in the plaque exclusively from Best Buy. Then again...I havn't looked in awhile...so maybe there are more up on auction for less because they went for a lot when they disappeared out of stores. Prices that I would never pay.

I am psyched to receive it and I don't care that it cost me that much since I have always kicked myself for not picking it up then and now I have it in my collection. I can rest easy now :D

Yeah, that is a really good question. I never really thought about it. It would actually be very cool if they were all the same image (a very good one). It would suck to get a lame shot...then again, I can't really think of a really bad image they could include. Like my brother got the worst cell that came with this exclusive Star Wars vhs gift set for Episode 1: Phantom Menace.

I would hope mine would be cool (if they are in fact different)...then again, I don't think I will ever take off the shrink wrap. I'll try asking around to see what info I can get regarding the cells. Either way, I love limited edition stuff and this is a special item to me. It's a very cool display piece so I may not be able to stand it having it all packaged up...but hopefully I can :D
