Hey Everyone,
Paul Swearingen here Co-Chairmen of last years 25th Anniversary Convention and associate producer of the upcoming Halloween documentary.
QUESTION: If we were to do a 30th year convention, here in Pasadena, would this be of interest to you fans?
We have been approched from some people that want us to do another convention in 2008.
For those of you that attended last years event, it would consist of many of the features we had last year (bus tour of filming sites, parties, discussion panels, celebrity appearances, etc)
plus a lot more, especially with H-9 coming soon.
Again, this is just talk at the moment, we know is another 4 years away, however an impact was left on a lot of individuals, celebrities included, that would like to see it again.
Let us know your thoughts.....
Thanks
Paul
Staff Update 12/25/2007:
To prevent confusion among those who are new and/or who have not followed this thread since it's creation 3 1/2 years ago I want to make an addition to the first post and announce that a 30th convention will in fact be taking place in Pasadena, August, 2008. The convention will be headed up by horror guru and long time Halloween fan, Sean Clark. The news was broke on page 17 of this thread (for those that want to skip past the old stuff). All new info from Sean and subsequent discussion by board members can be found from that page onward. Stay tuned to the forum's front page, this thread, and www.30yearsofterror.com for all news updates pertaining to the event.

I'm sure the fans would be down with it. It would certainly be a question of would it be worth allt he time and energy to do another one. I was unable to attend the first convention, but if there would be one in 2008, I would making my flight and hotel reservations for Pasadena.

I would love for there to be a 30th one...and I would try my hardest to be there this time.

i would do it just to be able to see halloween and halloween 4 (even halloween 6 if franchise would be nice enough to lend his) in a movie theater again. if there happened to be some cast and crew members on hand, well that would be nice too.

Well, originally, many people put down the idea. But since an official guy is asking whether we would or not, I would have to say definately. I found out too late about last year's convention, and I would love to go to the 30th Anniversary Convention. That is, if you guys are willing to put the time and effort into it. :)

I tried to an extent to make it to Pasadena last year. The biggest problem was the expense. But if there's a convention in 2008, I'm sure I'll be able to go. Last year I didn't try hard enough.

Hey Paul, I would def attend! We had such an awsome time last year! You guys worked your asses off. Thank you for a badass convention! ;)
A 30th anniversary convention is a good idea, and definitely a much better idea than.. say.. a 26th anniversary convetion! :)
I don't know if I would be able to make it, but damn, I'd try!

Personally, in my opinion, I think that the Returns to Haddonfield Convention was a "one of a kind thing." Of course, I attended, so I have a different viewpoint than those who couldn't make it. My thoughts on this are that it shouldn't happen. I mean, there was this great event coinciding with the release of the H25 DVD, so it all fit. Also, it was the first convention for solely Halloween films(I believe). I was truly amazed at how many people from the movies made their way to the convention, several of them first time convention guests. And I think that that speaks volumes for the convention. If a 30th Anniversary convention comes along, there are bound to be people who can't make that either. Then in turn, they'll want another convention. It might begin to lose the "magic" in the eyes of the celebs. They'll lose interest and the re-hashing. That's just my view though, and I realize others may disagree, but it's still my view.

Hey Everyone thanks for the quick replies and I look forward to receiving more.
Just a few quick notes....
To those who have expressed concern over the manpower to put on the show, no worries we would have time on our side and a good group of volunteers to pull off another great event. Plus Tony and I learned alot from the first one, so going into another one, we would be ahead of the game. Plus even though it took 15 months of planning it was an awesome experience, and I would do it again in a minute.
Also Moron86 made some valid points as well, and I appreciate his honesty. A 30th would not be an event to top or make better then the 25th, that was truely a magical event (as he stated) however, with more time to plan, and more people excited, the venue could only be bigger. New celebrities and plot lines for not only H-9, but the six different new versions of Halloween One Good Scare comics. For example, wouldn't it be awesome to have collected the whole seies by then and have your favorite celebrities sign them? How about seeing the H2O houses, that is something we could add to the tour also. Again, another convention would be to continue to honor the films and to also have alot of you fans that did make it return once again, and for those who didn't get the chance to then have it.
Thanks again, please tell your friends, we want to hear more of your feedback.

My wife and I flew over from England to attend the last one and we would definitely do the same again. This was the best convention we had EVER been to. (UK events suck)
As soon as we got back I was straight onto emailing Anthony about a 30th Anniversary convention, so I'm glad this is now being officially considered. Count us in!
I hope that last years attendees will get a heads-up when this is official?

The biggest problem is how to get there. By then I'll be more than likely living in Manchester, NH so a ticket across the whole country will cost a lot, unless Southwest Airlines or something will have an affordable deal.

Look at it this way, if you save a little over $8 a month for the next 48 months, you will roughly have $400. Enough for a ticket.
You also need to think about hotels, transportation while there, food & drink, and extra spending money.
I think I spent close to $1,500.00 for my trip out there last year. Granted we went out a few days early but it won't be cheap.

Hey guys I had a thought today. If a 30th Convention does happen (which I pray will!) has anyone ever thought about getting J.C. Brandy? I mean personally I didn't care much for her preformance because in all honesty that was Danielle's part and every Halloween fan would much rather have had Danielle then J.C. but it just hit me today that if you guys are going to do a 30th Anniversary Convention and want to get newer guests then maybe she is worth a shot since she has never done any cons before (at least to my knowledge). I mean even though her preformance didn't mean that much to us, you can't get around the face that she "was" Jamie Lloyd in H6 and she was part of the cast so it would be great to see her and have her autograph your H6 poster ya know. But, of coarse all the Halloween fans, me included, definatly want to see the Real Jamie Llyod back at H30 as well, she was one of the best and nicest guests you guys had at H25! Thanks for your time guys and let me know what you think?

Great thought, Mike! We can never meet too many Halloween people, right? Anyway, I had some ideas today myself as well. First of all, one of the things I loved at H25 was the bus tour of the filming locations! I know that last year, we did them during the day, which was awesome. But, I was thinking, how cool would it be to do it at night, being that most of those scenes were shot at night. Maybe even have some of the night scenes reenacted by the Pasadena high school drama department. With or without the reenactments, it will still be fun! I wanted to see the filming locations so bad at night last time, but I didn't have time. Speaking of Pasadena high school, I thought it would be kind of cool if there was something held there like the "VIP party" or the "After Party." lol...I'm sorry...:)! I guess I just have my own ideas. One other thing that came to mind was to have a dance/costume party in the school gym. We can have that dance that probably never happened. Remember what happened in Halloween & in Halloween II the night before. The Homecoming Dance could be held at 8:00 like in the move. See, it fits because, it's "The Night When "EVERYONE" Comes Home!" It could be sort of a Carrie/Halloween/Prom Night type thing. All we would need is PJ Soles going around asking for everybody's "Ballots!"

Awsome Idae Jon!! I never did get a picture of the Elrod house LOL and it would badass to see the house at night and walk through that allyway at night

LOCATION DIRECTIONS
For years, fans of the HALLOWEEN series have wanted to visit the shooting locations of their favorite movies. Until now, finding these locations has been like finding a needle in a haystack.
Look no further. The next time you visit Los Angeles (HALLOWEEN) or Salt Lake City (4, 5, and 6), you'll be able to follow these directions (granted you plan ahead and print this out!) in finding the filming locals on your own. Bring a camera or camcorder for your own personal collection.
HALLOWEEN
See the map below, based on work by David Winning, of where in Pasadena you can find some of the HALLOWEEN spots!
Original Location of the Myers House (no longer there, though):
707 Meridian Avenue in South Pasadena.
The Doyle and Wallace Houses:
The 1500 block of Orange Grove Ave between Sunset and Selma in Hollywood.
The Myers House and Hardware Store:
Located at the corner of Mission St and Meridian Ave in South Pasadena.
The Strode House:
The corner of Oxley St and Fairview Ave in South Pasadena.
"Behind The Bush," Lynda and Annie's houses:
Oxley & Montrose, South Pasadena
Haddonfield High School:
Haddonfield High School is actually South Pasadena High School and is located on the corner of Fremont Ave and Lyndon St in South Pasadena.
Smith's Grove Gate:
Lake Hollywood St. - Hollywood Dam off Barham, Hollywood
"Isn't that Devon Graham?," as Michael drives by and breaks:
Just north of the Myers house -- about a half a mile, on Highland (the 1000 block) between Fairview and Meridian.
HALLOWEEN II
The Town Square:
Located at Kersting Court, at the intersection of Sierra Madre Blvd and Baldwin Ave in Sierra Madre.
HALLOWEEN 4
Salt Lake City ... Near the "Alphabet Streets"
Note: We've had a few reports that the owners of the "Halloween houses" in this area frown upon visits from HALLOWEEN fans. Please respect the owners of these locations and do not cause a disturbance.
HALLOWEEN 5
Salt Lake City ... Near the "Alphabet Streets"
HALLOWEEN THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS
Blankenship and Myers House:
VERY close to the University Park Hotel in Salt Lake City.
Interior Myers House:
The old army barracks in Salt Lake City.
The Re-Shoots:
Queen of Angels hospital in Los Angeles.
Next time you're planning a family vacation or are just in town, make sure you check out the locations. There's nothing like comparing what you've seen on your television and big screen to the actual locations as seen with your own two eyes.
Happy Haunting...rather...Hunting!

I hope there's one. Since I was way too young last year to attend because of school obligations, I'll be in college by 2008 and may have a shot at going. The thing is, is that I hope fans don't find that it is repetitive having a convention every 5 years. And also, not all the big stars are going to want to show up if we decide to have a milestone every 5 years.

Hey guys, I'm all for the H30 Convention (as you might already know from my earlier posts). But, this time I thought I'd throw some guest suggestions your way for the event.... I feel that the guests at the convention couldn't have been better but I think that there were a few that weren't there that would have made great guests, well heres the list and PLEASE EVERYONE LET ME KNOW YOUR OPINIONS AS WELL...
Halloween 5
1) "Tina"- Wendy Kaplan
(I THINK THESE 2 MEN WERE THE "CLOWN COPS", IF SO THATS EXACTLY WHO I AM SUGGESTING, IF I'M WRONG PLEASE CORRECT ME).
2) "Deputy Nick"- Frank Como
3) "Deputy Tom"- David Ursin
4) "Sam"- Tamara Glynn
5) "Spitz"- Matthew Walker
6) "Mikey"- Jonathan Chapin
7) "Charlie"- Troy Evans (Yes, "Charlie" the Cop that was protecting "Jamie" upstairs but eventually was hung by Michael)
Halloween 6
1) "Dr. Wynn"- Mitch Ryan
2) "Tim Strode"- Keith Bogart
3) "Beth"- Mariah O'Brien
4) "Barry Simms"- Leo Geter
5) "Jamie Lloyd"- J.C. Brandy (I guess she would round out the H6 Cast, although Danielle Harris in my opinion is the true and best Jamie Llyod!)
6) "Danny Strode"- Devin Gardner
Well thats the list as of right now, note these were people that WERE NOT at H25 so I just figured it'd be helpful to throw these suggestions your way. Good luck with the Con and I hope it becomes a reality, take care and PLEASE everyone give me some feedback on what you guys think of these suggestions.

I've heard from someone that they tried to track her down for H25 but to no avail. The crew took an effort to find so many people, it's amazing. I agree that Wendy'd be an awesome addition to a convention.
Do any of the regular convention attendees know if she's ever done a convention before?

Right. Not what Tony Sago told us (who apparently kinda knows JLC). I'll take his word over your lame fuckin word any day. Why would Jamie Lee put down a 25 anniversary con? doesn't make sense, damnit. And why am I wasting my time here with some idiot who calls himself sherlock? I need to get out more.

What's up everyone! Boogeyman here. I was at the 25th anniversary convention, and I had a blast. Tour bus #1 and the VIP bus tour were awesome!! Anyway, to add to the census here. I would love to see a 30th Anniversary convention happen. It'll be just in time for my brother's high school graduation, and I already promised him I'd take him to California to see the sights...and more importantly the Halloween roots. So, have an actual convention to take him to would be great!!!
I'd go ahead and throw my ideas into the hat, but for now I won't bother until we get some sort of confirmation that this event will take place. It'll keep things less confusing if we hold back on the ideas until we know if this is actually going to happen or not. But, please god, let it happen!!!!

Hey guys, Paul here (H-25) just to clear up any confusion on the celebrities and them not showing, We tried to contact EVERYONE that was involved with the 8 films. We did contact Jamie Lee and so did Trancus, however she was unable to attend. She received a framed convention poster and was fully aware of the event.
A fan just wrote in and said that he went to a book signing of hers recently and she did sign a Halloween related item, so she is still aware that us fans our out there and love her for Halloween.
Like any artist you want to be known for all your projects.
So lets meet her half way...
COOL, LAURIE STRODE WRITES CHILDREN'S BOOKS... (ha! ha!)
Thanks again for all your imput and support on the possibility of a 30th convention. We will keep you posted. In the meantime if you all want to know what Tony and I are up to next check out the following.......

Hey, Halloween63! How are ya? What's going on? Just for the record, what did Tony Sago tell you? I also didn't believe that Jamie Lee Curtis would say that about H25. I met JLC last month & she was cool about Halloween. I even got a personally autographed picture of her. She signed the picture where she is waiting for Annie to pick her up. She said, "Oh, this is an old one!" She wrote "To Jonathan: Happy Halloween - Jamie Lee Curtis!" The Jamie Lee Curtis picture in my avatar is from the book signing! Other people had stuff there as well. One guy from another board that I frequent was there. He brought a Halloween poster & the picture of her in the closet holding the knife. She signed his poster with a BIG heart. She is also signed his "Closet" picture with a question mark in a bubble, coming out of her head. I was there, folks, so I know.

Hey, everybody & anybody else planning on attending the Jamie Lee Curtis Signing in New York on October 30, 2004. I don't want to rain on anybody's parade, but I have some rather unfortunate news regarding the JLC book signing in NY. Before I read this post on the board, I checked out the upcoming celebrity book signing site that I usually frequent. To my Surprise, JLC was doing another signing in New York, or so I thought. Now, on the website I just mentioned above, it says: "Jamie Lee Curtis, beautiful film star and author, signing copies of It’s Hard To Be Five 10/23/04 7:00 PM at Children's Book World – W. Pico Blvd. Los Angeles, CA. & 10/30/04 7:00 PM at Books of Wonder – West 18th St. New York, NY."
So, I went to the website for Books of Wonder & checked it out. It just lists the author, Laura Cornell. I was like, "What the...?" So, when I woke up this morning, I called the book store to find out what the deal was. I asked them what was going on for Saturday, October 30. They read the event schedule off to me & when the man on the phone said "Laura Cornell signing copies of "It's Hard to Be five," I stopped him & asked about JLC, and would she be there as well. He told me that he only had Laura Cornell on the list, but he would double check for me. So, when he came back, he said, "No, it's just the illustrator." I was like, "Oh, okay. Thank you." I was disappointed too because, I wanted to go as well to see her again, get something else signed & hopefully a picture with her. There is a guy that I have been corresponding with. He was lucky enough to get a picture with her afterwards.
He called out to get a pic with her as she was leaving, but she was crowded with people. So, it didn't happen then. But, he was going down one flight of stairs, as she was going down another. So, she called him & was like, "FogBoy! Come on, let's take that picture!" He wore his "The Fog" shirt & she kept referring to him as FogBoy throughout the signing! You can view his Jamie Lee Curtis experience with pics at www.jamieleecurtis.org. However, she is listed on the Children's Book World website. Her name is still up there. My guess is she is only doing the west coast book signing & staying close to home, due to the loss of her mom or to spend Halloween weekend with her children. Who knows, guys, it might be subject to change! We can call the book store closer to the event & see what's up. How cool would it be to see JLC on Halloween weekend?
If it does happen, I figured out how we can get our picture taken with her without asking. I thought of this after we went, of course, but, now we HOPEFULLY have another chance. We should take pictures of each other with her, when it's our turn in line. For example, It's somebody from our groups turn in line. So, while we are talking with her, getting our stuff signed, etc., somebody from the group takes a pic of that person & JLC together. Hopefully, she will be there & do the signing. If so, it's relatively close to where we are going to be that weekend. So, we'll only be gone for like a couple of hours or so. I just wanted to inform anybody who was planning on going, so it wasn't a letdown. I didn't want anybody to make the trip for nothing. I HATE to be the bearer of bad news. Let's see, guys. Who knows. Maybe we'll get lucky & it will all work out!

Tommy's grade school is actually in the city of Alhambra and it is on the corner of McLean and 2nd Street. That is also where the scene in Halloween where Laurie is shown in class looking out the window at Michael and near the end of Halloween II where Marion goes into the school to get Doctor Loomis.

Other unique additions would be Nancy Loomis, Paul Rudd, and the guys who played Wade and Brady...:D There are many more I'd love to see as well, but I go crazy meeting any celebrity so it would be an honor just meeting one.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. Just wanted to let you all know that the idea of a 30th has not been forgotten, it is just a lot of other activities are happening in the meantime.
I will keep everyone posted on the progress on the idea of having a 30th.

I'd definitly consider going. I was unable to attend the 25th sadly, I had it all planned out to attend but that never came to be. I'd rather go to a 30th anniversary anyways, because I'd be 21 and be of legal age to do a lot more things with other Halloween fans haha. Gives me a lot more time to save and that way money wouldn't even be a problem for me. Hope this happens, I'd love to meet other Halloween fans!

Thanks
Paul
I think it would be worth it. I know A LOT of people who didn't know about the first one, including myself... who would go to one in 2008.
I know I would do just about anything to get the oppertunity to attend a Halloween convention, esp one like H25.

I'll continue to support this idea...sure, I can see where some of the people who attended the first may be a bit ticked that this would somewhat loosen the once in a lifetime feel, but thats if your being a bit more on the greedy side. This right here thread shows you can't bring EVERY little Halloween fan together at one time,so its bound to be in demand for another type of event.
I know I remember being pretty let-down that I missed out meeting some of the more harder to meet celebs like Kathleen Kinmont,Sasha Jenson etc.,

I would die to go!!! I missed H25 due to work and obligations around here, but if there was an H30 con, I'd be there. And it would be after the remake, so it would definitely be appropriate! And furthermore, I'd have a lot of in-depth and well-thought out questions that weren't really addressed and haven't been. Especially seeing the H25 doc, there was so many questions I wanted to ask while all the panels were going on, and everyone was asking these miniscule questions and I was like, "OMG!! Ask this! NO! Ask this!!!" Haha. But to answer the question, yes I am there if it happens. Plus it would be an excuse for a vacation and to be in Cali.

I talked to Anthony Masi about him setting up an H30 convention through a message on My Space. This is his reply back.
Hey! A 30th convention?? Probably won't happen... the 25th was such a great once-in-a-lifetime thing, and the DVD was a result of that, so to re-live it would just be a watered-down version of the original event. I'm not stopping anyone else from putting an event together though!

I would definatly be there, but I don't see (and never have) something like this ever getting off the ground. I can only imagine the amount of pre-arraning that went into H25. A LOT of work. A 30th would be like a shameless double dip and as Masi said "a watered down version" and probably wouldn't be worth the effort.
All is not lost however. There have been times when other horror conventions have dedicated a large portion of their weekend to Halloween. Was that monstermania 04 that did that? So you can still get some pretty big time halloween stuff going on at conventions.

Maybe it could be done for another franchise. Next year is the 20th anniversary of Hellraiser, 2008 will be the 35th anniversary of The Exorcist, and 2009 will be the 25th anniversary for Nightmare on Elm Street. If they did one for any or all of those I'd be there.

I would find it hard to imagine that there won't be something. Granted it might not be the "official convention" or even take place in CA. But I'm sure some convention promoter somewhere in the country will try to put some type of Halloween con on and have a lot of Halloween related guests. Kind of like Monster Mania last year.

That would be kinda cool. HILL & CARPENTER'S real life inspiration & vision behind what we eventually see up on the screen. If the Team that put together The 25th is officially not interested in H30CON, what would the reaction be to a BIG East Coast Event, .... in Haddonfield New Jersey, maybe ???
After thinking about it a little more, there has to be a 30th Anniversry Convention, there just has to be!!! The ZOMBIE PROJECT is going to be a Huge Success IMO (TDR was a high, high quality film, I'm very confident in Rob)... There will be a ton of positive energy and excitement surrounding The Franchise in 2008. I'd be willing to "invest" (time/money) in that idea perhaps, any thoughts ??? Thanks!

Since I'm one of the many Halloween fans who missed the "magic" of the 25th annivesary convention, I'd love to see a 30th anniversary get together, preferaby somewhere in the midwest instead of in California. I know it would be a lot of trouble for someone or a group of someones, but it would surely be a hit. Not all Halloween fans live in or near California and I'm sure many of us would be able to attend a convention in Chicago or somewhere who weren't able to take a trek out to the last one. I know it won't happen, or probably not anyway, but I do envy those who were able to go to the last one. Somehow it just doesn't seem fair that no one who didn't get to the first convention will ever get to experience something like that again.

An H30 con NEEDS to happen. I really dont agree with the "watering down" of the last convention--I mean, it's about CELEBRATING the film series! As long as the film series continues, and there are fans to support it, there should be a celebration for us. I mean, if Anthony Masi really doesnt want to go thru with setting one up (as Im sure its a ton of work), thats totally understandable--but Im sure the rest of us could pick up the slack! Hell, Ill do my part if someone wants to tell me how to start it off! Maybe I should ask Sean Clark how he got involved in the H25 con. The bottom line is this: Halloween is a legendary film series and diserves an annual event to celebrate that. Another one could only improve on the last one!

I know. I barely see any California fans on the board. There are mostly Mid-West/East Coast fans on the board. Somewhere in the middle is good enough. Or in Salt Lake City! I also don't think it's fair how they can hold a "mother of all Halloween conventions", but if you're a no show, than 'sorry.' And I'm sad to say, the next time that they'll probably have a big convention to the same extent of H25 is for the 50th year anniversary; when people like Danielle Harris are 50 years old and most likely the other members of the cast and crew are very old or have passed on. So they shouldn't have a huge convention like H25 that was a two day thing just for a movie series, but a convention where people can meet some of the cast and crew and win cool prizes. That's all the fans want.

It's the 30th freakin anniversary for god sake. How can there not be one? I couldn't go to H25 and to this day I deeply regret it. I don't care where it is as long as it's in the U.S. I will take vacation time from work and fly out. It doesn't need to be as elaborate as H25. Just a large gathering of fans and those involved in the films. Autograph sessions, Q and A, and a area for dealers is all I need. If it were to be on the East Coast maybe we could contact the people that do the Monster Mania conventions?? I've heard nothing but good things about them. Maybe they would be interested in managing this? Anybody have any suggestions?

I didn't even know about the H25 convention. It must have taken place shortly before or after I first joined the old UHMB. If I had known, I would have been there with bells on. I'm sure a lot of fans of the Halloween series didn't know about it at the time. I'm also certain that there would be a market for an H30 convention, and if the right amount of time and effort is invested in planning it, there's no reason it can't be just as special as the first one. I don't care if they have it on the moon, if it happens, I'll find a way to be there.

The notion that there shouldn't be one because it wouldn't 'compare' to H25 is bullshit, pure and simple. The point of the 30th con wouldn't be to compete with the previous one, but to have fun. Let these fans and celebs, same ones as well as others that never got the chance, connect.

I know these are not "Halloween" conventions but for all you Halloweenies on the East Coast there is a Halloween event in PA and NJ. I have been booking a lot of guests into Chiller Theatre in NJ for October 27-29th and quite a few are Halloween stars. Here are the Halloween people in attendence so far:
Brian Andrews
Tommy Lee Wallace
Lance Guest
Sasha Jenson
Kim Darby (I didn't book her, she just happened to be there)
I will also be in attendence. I am looking to add a few more Halloween peeps so stay tuned!

Also on October 4th at the Eerie Horror Film Festival in Erie, PA there will be a screening of the original Halloween followed by the uncut 25 minute version of my Horror's Hallowed Grounds episode on Halloween. After that will be a Q & A and signing with:
Tony Moran

I live in Connecticut .I'll take a weeks vacation from work to go ! I will try my hardest to go; because I didn't have a computer and I live on the east coast. There was no way of informing me about the first convention ! This will be a dream come true for me!!! NOT KIDDING!!!

I missed the H25 as well and from seeing the DVD, I wish I could had attended. But if there is a 30th anniversary show, I'll be on the first plane to CA for it.

Going to the 30th Anniversary would probably be the greatest experience ever. It would be so much fun and exciting.

Considering that I've pretty much gotten over my fear of conventions and meeting celebrities, I'd definately be up for this now.

I am in - TOTALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had the honor of being part of the 25th and will absolutely NOT MISS the 30th! Would also like to help out again in any way creatively.
Probably the best time I can remember ever having. South Pasadena is beautiful in the Fall and I plan on spending more than just a few days for the Convention that is for sure!!!
Do whatever you can possibly do to ATTEND THE 30th, you'll never forget it!

I got an e-mail from Sean Clark (not directly. I'm on his mailing list) that, among other things, said this:
"Next year in 2008 get ready for the mother of all Halloween Reunions
when I will be hosting the 30th Anniversary Convention in Pasadena, California. you thought the 25th Anniversary Convention was bad ass then
you haven't seen anything yet. The website will be launching soon so
get ready!"
Think it could mean something? :bastard:

I missed the 25th convention because my car died that week. I'm still kicking myself 3 years later about it!

I would love to go but I don't think my school schedule would allow for it.

If he plans on out doing the original "Halloween returns to Haddonfield" convention then I'd say he has his work cut out for him. But if anyone has the resources and contacts to arrange this thing and get the Halloween alums there, it's definitely Sean. I must say that I'm pretty surprised over this.

I wouldn't mind since I stupidly missed the last one...I had Jenn trying to get me out there...all I had to do was get myself there and she was taking care of everything else (ticket and hotel) and I didn't do it. Stupid me!

I'd have to worry about my college schedule. However, having missed H25 I'd really be kicking myself if I missed H30.

Like everyone else, I'm down for a Halloween convention. I'm an adult so I could make it and save up. Only conflicts would be school and work schedules. Please post some dates when available. :)

I never went to the 25th, but if this thing goes ahead I'm jumping on a plane without hesitation, don't know how much it would cost but I'm not too bothered about that, but it would be the ultimate for me.

How much should someone bring as far as spending money and stuff like that.

It really depends on what you want to do. For celebrities, most charge about $20 for an autographed 8x10 picture and you can get a picture with them for free (some charge though, but not many in my experience). In terms of buying merchandise, the sky's the limit. I brought $400 with me to Halloween 25 and I don't believe I spent it all. I didn't buy much merchandise though, but got a hell of a lot of autographs.
As for Halloween 30, I may have been averse to the idea when it first came up, but I'm definitely game for this one. I'll have graduated college by then, so I'll have a nice chunk of change to play with. Hopefully the weather will be better for this one. I kid you not, it was colder in southern California when we went than it was in Philadelphia. Sunny California my ass, lol.
