It comes out later this month. In the UK. How sad huh?

Not sad for everybody! Bwahaha!

The irony of that? I'm not planning on buying it. I would like to get The O.C and Nip/Tuck first season box sets first. But that's just me.

Mainly because I have all the Halloween films, and I don't wanna buy them again.

I'm not bothered in the least that this box set is only getting an R2 release. I checked the specs and found that it offers virtual nothing that we don't already have. No new extras/specials to warrant a box set release. In fact the only specials it has that are not on the R1 discs are the H2 and H3 commentary tracks, which were already released on the R2 versions of those two films.

It doesn't really matter about a box set now anyway, because more movies are on the way.

I'm getting the O.C. too! I would like to own a box set of all of em, but I got them all on DVD already.

There just doesn't seem to be enough extras. I don't think I'll buy this. They are leaving too much out. I'm sure they'll come out with a Special Collectors Limited Edition Widscreen Box Collection in a couple years. Go figure.

There including basically everything thats been released to this point. Because of this, the set isn't innovative at all, but there not omitting anything thats available.

The Specs for the Halloween Boxset aint that good. I would only recomend this if you didnt own any halloween DVD's as I would consider this a good Entry point to the series. Down side being Region2 UK/euro ETC

Pain in the butt that they're done this again, I think it was only 2 years ago, they released the other UK boxset without Halloween's 6 & 8. I might pass on it this time.

I actully have that Halloweeen boxset....it's okay.
After that boxset was released in the uk, they released another boxset with H6 and H. resserection - the ones that weren't included in the first boxset.

Wasn't so much of a 'boxset', but just a cardboard sleeve holding Halloween 6 and Halloween Resurrection on their seperate DVDs.

What is up with this- region 2 gets it but not us-absolutely stupid. We should get this as well and replace that awful halloween 6 theatrical version with the much better producer's cut. maybe someone could start a petition?? i hate franchise's that you can not even get all the films on dvd because of different companies owning different rights to different films. Another example the Phantasm series and Subspecies.

I don't understand why people whine about this stupid boxset. All the dvds released here are the same that are in that boxset. Who cares? You can go out and get most of the movies for 15 dollars or less. Depends on what one you get. Also the Producer's Cut will never get released, period. Why waste time trying to get them to release it when they won't. Thorn plot is dead, why rerelease H6. Most people want it, but there is a nice version that Mojo made. That will be the best we'll most likely ever get.

Off topic: Ummm your favorite kill, say "Laurie falling to death in H2O." Laurie didn't fall to her death in H20. :)

Some people whine about it because they would like to have a boxset of all the Halloween films. Just like the Nightmare on Elm Street series. It's cool to have.

Play.com (http://www.play.com) Only £44.99, where I checked MVC today and they were selling it for £71.99!!! kin'hell.

Looks pretty shoddy to me, this boxset. Just all the DVD's in some new, badly designed packaging. Best bet, is to wait as some have said, until the series is over.

PS: At £44.99, it works out just under £6 per Halloween movie.

At the moment, I prefer to choose the region that has the best version for each individual movie (using www.DVDCompare.net) and buy them separate with the custom covers that used to be on the site.

Just had a look over at www.hmv.co.uk

They are selling the box set for £39.99 which is not a bad price.

They also are selling Halloween 25th Anniversary dvd for £7.99 & the Halloween II & Halloween III dvd with the audio commentaries £4.99 each & HR for £7.99

cheers

Well totempoll over here in the UK we have had 2 Halloween boxsets released here. The first one was released round about 2002 i think. The set included H1,HII,HIII,H4,H5 &H20.The reason that H6 wasn't included in the set was because at that time H6 was never released on dvd here in the UK.It was only available on video. And HR wasn't included in the set as HR wasn't out yet in dvd.

Also the Halloween dvd that was featured in the first box set is different to the dvd that is in the new boxset. The new boxset has the audio commentary with John C,Deb Hill & JLC were the Halloween dvd that was released in the first set never had this.

cheers

Also, this new boxset contains Halloween 6 and Halloween Resurrection, and also sports a new cover art.

If you have the DVDs already, I wouldn't bother getting this. From what I can see, it is just the same DVDs as the single editions, but just in a new bigger package.

Yeah those custom boxes are sweet! Problem is...they are more expensive than buying 4 - 5 of the damn dvds! A bit pricey for a box, but still damn cool to look at. All of the Halloween ones are definitely super cool

I sure wish I could get the clawed up Jurassic Park custom box...that is just awesome :D
