Just about 2 thirds through it. Its a very unoriginal book, several things taken straight from the Romero films. But, its a very good story about survival. About 100 survivors are living in a shelter, a crazy Preacher and a group of hooligan teens are perhaps a bigger danger than the zombies themselves, and when they collide with the other survivor's group, all hell will break loose.

The book is very fast, almost rushed, but I like it that way, I'm not such a fan of the descriptive books that tend to drag on about what inner emotions all the characters are feeling. This gets straight to action and then continues with some great twists.

I recommend the book anyway, and it should be especially well recieved by like minded fans on here.

I heard from several sources that these books were terrible.

Len Barnhart wrote Reign of the Dead and the sequel. The second book IMO is worse than the first.

I read them after reading The Rising. They actually are pretty hard to find and are sort of expensive. Here's the author's website...
