I didn't see any thread so hopefully I'm not repeating something.Since each movie has a different variation of the theme, which is your favorite.Of course the theme in the original is my favorite but I also liked the H2,H4 and H20 versions the best.

The original is so simple and standard but remains to be my faovirte of all. However I must acknowledge the organ feel of H2 and the ochrestral H20 as other powerful favorites.

The H1 theme is out of competition cuz it set the standarts....apart from the i just LOVE the main title of H2O especially around minute 1:00....and i love the resurrection theme with this kind of choir :)

My dream is to record a surf-rock version of the theme song in the style of Dick Dale and The Ventures.
That song is just dying to be reverbed out!!!

H1 and H4

(H6 actually had a good sound, too - but I think the only reason I liked that version was due to its similarity to the H4 sound.)

Apart from the first, i would say Halloween 8. The theme was different with the choir type people and the different sounds. Truely brilliant!

my faves would have 2 be H20 (i love the orchestral version, it sounds kinda classy :p ), then H6 with the electric guitars, then the original...

in digital media class in year 11, we had to make a movie trailer using existing footage on the school's computers.... i made a trailer for a movie set in space... for the background music i used the H20 theme music. the teacher and class loved the music and asked if they could have a copy other classes to use.

In reference to SpongerBoy's original post...

I have the "Trance" Version downloaded, its pretty cool.

the only thing i dont like is how fast it starts out...but whats sweet is a little after the opening " duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duh duhh duhh duh .... it has a cool "Splicing type effect" where it likes a knife blade and it continuallly beat over the original background and then Dr loomis quotes "death!! has come to your liitle town" and then right after that it breaks into a cool variation of the main theme...SWEET STUFF...and midway through the song...when it quiets down for a minute dr loomis say "he became and obsession with me..until i realized that there was nothing left in him neither conscience nor reason..or ..even remotely human!!!...and then..."I AM TALKING ABOUT THE REAL POSSIBILITY THAT HE IS STILL OUT THERE!!! and it then breaks back into theme....that is a great mix...o and actually its Terror Mix BUT i do know of the trance mix myself.

The WORST ...i think is one made up..and it has WEIRD background beats to the original like a symphony and its cool at first cus it has warp soundes that change the tone of the song ffrom the high form to low BUT THEN...it goes..boom..boom...boom booom boom boom and breaks into some weird hip hop buh buh buh buh waww wa a AND FOR THE REST OF THE SONG ITS WEIRD HIP HOP THAT SOUNDS NOTHING LIKE HALLLOWEEN TIL THE END WHERE IT GOES BACK....it is weird..

I LOVE the Resurrection theme! Such a kick-ass theme, leading into such a disappointing movie. Resurrection's theme is My No. 1, followed by Halloween 1. But I love Howarth's versions in 4 & 5.

I like them all in their own way.

Yeah, each one is great. Each leading into the type of movie its gonna be, like Halloween 4's theme was dark and tonal, with Halloween 5 being a bit more brutal, H20 being more grand for it being the 20th Anniversary.

Each theme fit the movies perfectly, so I won't vote on this, but I will say I like them all in different ways that fit the movies.

The original theme will always be the best one. And I agree that with NCamp about not hating a halloween theme. I like all of them. Each theme put its own spice into it, giving it a new flavor for the better. The H4 theme would be my top choice next to the original, I loved that it has a beat. H5, darker yet still good. H3 - Great! Even though it set aside a new idea and theme, gotta love the score! H2 - the organs on this one gave a darkening tone to the film, another great one. H8 - nicely done. Same for H20, and H6 wasn't too bad. I like that there is some variety of the themes. :)

As far as different renditions of the main theme, I've never heard one I didn't like. The main title versions from H2, H20, and H:R (ironically some of my least favorite Halloween movies) would all be pretty high on the list, but #1 for me is definitely the rendition that plays during struggle in the truck in H4, dubbed "Myers Finale" on the soundtrack. That track alone was worth the $10 I paid for the CD. It doesn't get much better than a fast-paced, bombastic Halloween theme with rolling percussion and strong bass...especially when you're looking for a rendition of it to be blasting from your car CD player.
