Well getting back to what I was saying in UHMB The Sims 2 is a really freaking awesome game. Anybody who has played any of the first games/expansion packs and liked it should pick this up.

Has anybody played Doom 3 yet? I want to know if the gameplay is worth the buy.

I haven't played Doom 3 yet but am getting it soon, I have all the Sims expansion packs (exccept Superstar) and can't wait to get "2" it looks awesome. Yes, the triumphant return of a wonderful thread. Videogames, along with TV and family are the cornerstones of our society...

I've got it, but the damn thing makes my computer chug like a sloth walking through jello, so I am going to have to wait to buy a better video card before really being able to enjoy it.

I was assured this game would work on my rig too.....pisses me off.

I just got it today along w/ the trilogy, I haven't played it yet but I will report back when I do, I am sick so I probably won't be going to school tomorrow so that means Star Wars all day! :cool:

Only thing i hate about this game is that it's always awesome, but once you beat it, it's over with, there's no more to the game than what you do, plus the small things like hidden packages and shit, i think needs to be changed where you have like other hidden missions or something, (idk if they're doing this,i have read nothing on this new game) but i felt the packages were a waste of time. I just wish that it would be possible to play more than after i beat the missions. normally after that, i quit playing it.

In Vice City after all 100 packages you get a Apache Helicopter that can shoot the whole damn city up!:p

I thought it had a lot of replay value, I beat it like 5 or 6 times and still love it, maybe that's just me...

i'm one who doesn't care to re-play the same game over and over, unless i can't beat it. once i beat it, i don't like to go back and do it over again, maybe it's cuz i had problems w/ gta 3 lol....

i just got my ps2 and gta 3, but i didn't have a memory card, i was gettin one the next day. I unlocked the 2nd city and then i ended up shutting it off, which i didn't mind too much. next day, i spend a few more hours unlocking the 2nd city and then my little sister plugged something into my wall and it blew a fuse, shutting off my system and yet again, i'm forced to start over lol. ever since, i haven't played a game repeatedly lol.

HAHA, thats great. The first time with GTA 3 it took me forever to unlock the second city then after I replayed it I got it in about a hour.

That's kinds of what I had to do, when I got Vice City I didn't have enough space on my memory card to I had to leave the game on for like 3 days straight, at first I shut it off though and then said screw it, I'll just leave it on.

Oh it was a bitch lol, there were many hours put into that lol, but it was fun :) i guess. I just get locked into those games and then i play them for days straight until they're beaten lol.

Sony today confirmed the PStwo will launch on November 1st, 2004 in North America, Europe and Oceania, at a price of $149/€149/£104.99. The new console is substantially smaller than the original, weighing half, with internal volume reduced by 75%. A network port is also included, making the network adapter obsolete for the new machine. No mention is made of any bundles, but speculation that the GTA: San Andreas release date had been pushed back to allow the console to be marketed alongside it is still rife. The slim machine will be showcased at this week's Tokyo Game Show.

That's great, I'm happy to hear it. That's what made the many versions of gameboy so great- you could always play your old games on it. (However, the new Nintendo DS coming out won't support backwards compatibility-or so I've read).

And some new details:

You can control trams by yourself.

You can adjust the camera in different directions for example to prevent a crash during a chase.

Tuning with your car will have no effect, only nitro will fasten up your car.

If you gain enough experience you can control a tow truck. With this you can lift up cars and move them.

While diving you can have a nice view on the fish. The time you can stay under water will be notified with a blue stamina meter.

Underwater you can only use a knife.

Rockstar isn't giving any information away about the animals, but in the water they saw some dolphins between the fishes.

Sometimes a plane just crashes out of nowhere, accidents happen.

You must earn some experience before you can play different types of games in Casino's.

At the end of the game you would have made a small army of gangs.

A PSP might be a bad choice. Look at what happened to the Game Gear. I thought it was better than gameboy. It took five different gameboys to get to what game gear had in capabilities. The SP only beat it with the batteries. Nintendo has a way of knocking out the competition when it comes to handhelds.

The PSP is going to rock ass! It can play games, movies, songs etc. It has PS2 graphics capabilty and a great list of launch titles. The Nintendo DS looks great also, but one problem is the idea is great about two screens but after a while you won't have anymore ways to use the dual screen. Go Sony!

My computer has a 800 mhz AMD athalon processor with 512mb of ram. What is the best possible video card I can install on my rig with no problems?

In other words I want to be able to play my DOOM3 game, right now I am not sure what card I have in this pup, but it certainly isn't doing the trick. Even on the lowest graphical setting this thing chugs like a one legged sloth in a vat of jello...........

That doesn't help alot. There are a shit load of Radeon cards out there, and I am looking for the card that will work on my rig and produce the best graphics possible.

I have decided to trade in my Gamecube and several games for a PS2 so I can get MGS3 when it comes out, as well as Killzone.

Hmm, well. You gotta first figure out what kind of slot you have. If it's an agp slot, check whether it's 2x, 4x, or 8x. Also, does your PC have an on-board graphics card?

I recently bought a new videocard, ATI's Readeon 9800 Pro, and it's awesome. Cost me $260 I believe. But you gotta know if your computer can handle it. Should have the recommended power supply too. Anyway, there's cards that are better than mine out there, but they're pricey. Like the Radeon's x800, I think it's around 400 bucks. I'm not sure though.

Go to newegg.com and look around there for video cards. They got good prices and shit. When you do get a video card though, just be sure it's a 256mb one. If you're going to get one, might as well get a good one, especially if you're gonna be playing Doom 3.

Go to newegg.com and look around there for video cards. They got good prices and shit. When you do get a video card though, just be sure it's a 256mb one. If you're going to get one, might as well get a good one, especially if you're gonna be playing Doom 3.

I have an AGP slot, but I am not sure if it is 2x, 4x, or 8x. I do not believe my comp has an on-board graphics card; like I said I have a GeForce something that was top of the line about 3 years back. I heard that a new graphics card is coming down the pipe pretty soon that will be able to totally harness the power of Doom3.....I might wait for that pup.:)

I also may wait a bit, save some moola, and invest in a totally badass gaming rig.

Just wanted to post saying that if you get the new issue of OPM there is a demo disc that has a demo of MGS3 on it, I have played it non-stop (almost anyways) and it is amazing, you should try it, They also have a demo for Area 51, this game looks very very good and is very fun to play.

I never got too into GTA. I always got too distracted with going on homocidal killing sprees to get any of the missions done. A little too close to my real life if you ask me. I think Postal 2 let the player carry out the killing in a more enjoyable fashion, but that's just me.

Also, the great Rockstar Games are realising a game based on one of my fave cult movies, The Warriors!!! How awesome is that? Heres some info;

i guess i was just expecting more from it. the story was there but the game itself never really backed it up. shang and quan were fighting each other when they were in alliance. maybe if they ended the game where either you fight them both at the same time or you pick one and then fight the other.

Mortal Kombat Deception looks amazing. It had a lot of returning characters; Ermac, Sleenia (sp?), Nightwolf, Blind Kenshi, Baraka etc. And some new characters as well. It will have multiple levels where you can knock somebody down to another floor or off a cliff, fatalties in the level (knock somebody into a meat grinder), new moves, Kombat Chess and Kombat Puzzle mini-games (look so fun!) and you can now take your skill online:p If you are a Mortal Kombat fan you must get this.

In Sub-Zero's bio he says Frost freezed herself with her own power. So she is dead. Lui Kang is completely different this time around. He is evil as is Raiden.

Raiden isn't evil. He helped out Quan Chi and Tsang Tsung in an attempt to defeat the Dragon King. The Dragon King is working to destroy the entire universe by combining the spirits of the elder gods into one....into singularity which will result in a Big Crunch of everything we know.

Scorpion is working for the Elder Gods to destroy the Dragon King.

Lui Kang's body has been resurrected by some unknown force to battle in the MK tournament. His soul fights alongside Ermac for the Earthrealm. So his zombie body is evil, but his soul is still pure.

The arenas are MUCH more interactive. There is a bundle of pit fatalities, and some stages have more than one. The old stages have returned as well into the 3d realm. Be on the lookout for the original pit, the portal, and the Tsang Tsung arena from the first MK.

Finally I do believe they are bigger. They are multileveled in many cases.

Some huge news has come up in the gaming world. First.....

Halo 2

Late last night, 27 days before its officially scheduled retail release, a complete version of Microsoft's upcoming first-person shooter Halo 2 was leaked to the Internet. The pirated release, a PAL version of the game with French-language dialogue, is currently making its way around various Usenet newsgroups and peer-to-peer networks.

In a statement that Microsoft is sending only to media outlets that request comment, it admits the game "has been posted to various newsgroups and web sites."

While Microsoft says it is "currently investigating the source of this leak with the appropriate authorities," there has been no word on precisely where or how the game originally surfaced at this time, although Microsoft says it is actively tracing the leak. "Microsoft takes the integrity of its intellectual property extremely seriously, and we are aggressively pursuing the source of this illegal act."

It should be noted that players who download the game illegally could face a maximum penalty of $100,000 per instance for copyright violations. "We consider downloading this code or making it available for others to download as theft," the statement continues.

Reaction to the leak from developer Bungie, whose employees have spent most of the past three years developing Halo 2, was understandably more visceral. "We think this really sucks," read a staffer's post on the company's official Web site. "Aside from years of hard work being stolen from us, we've gone to great lengths to ensure that the details of the Halo 2 campaign remain a mystery."

"Microsoft," the post says, "is currently engaged in a full-scale investigation" to come down hard on "those foolish enough to partake in this piracy."

Another message, this one directed at the members of the bungie.net forums, warned of dire, sweeping consequences that would befall any member who posted screens stolen from the leaked game, or hinted that he or she had the game, or knew where to get it. "A link… on the forums will get you banned permanently [from the forums]." Worse, users whose GamerTag user name is listed in their user profile "risk having your Xbox Live account's ability to play Halo 2 crippled…We are NOT kidding around here."

"There's no doubt in my mind that Microsoft has people tracking down whoever was responsible for this," wrote the Bungie-appointed moderator on the forum. "I hope whoever it was thought that leaking the game was worth his job."

Halo 2, which continues the adventures of Master Chief with an all-new single-player adventure, as well as Xbox Live support for Internet-based multiplayer, is scheduled to hit retail shelves on November 9--a date that Microsoft says "remains unaffected."

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

Rockstar Games updated the official Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas site with information on the ten radio stations in the game, as well as a teaser on the music set to be included. The Web site offers a car stereo interface that features clickable buttons that correspond to each station. Clicking the button will call up information on the station such as DJ and its format, and stream a short audio clip that includes the DJ's voice and a snippet of music.


The first station is Master Sounds, a classics station, helmed by Johnny "The Love Giant" Parkinson, that features a clip of "The Payback" from soul legend James Brown.

The second station is Playback, a hip hop station led by Forth Right MC which plays "Children's Story" by Slick Rick. Bounce FM, whose playlist draws on all manner of funk, chosen by DJ The Funkitpus, is the third station. "Funky Worm" from the Ohio Players serves as clip for the station.

The fourth station is K-DST, "The Dust," whose DJ, Tommy "The Nightmare" Smith, spins classic rock such as Eddie Money's "Two Tickets to Paradise."

The fifth station, K-Jah Radio West, plays dancehall, raga, reggae, and dub tunes spun by two DJs, Marshall Peter & Johnny Lawton. "Chase the Devil" by Max Romeo & The Upsetters is the sample tune.

CSR, the sixth station, favors new jack swing and modern soul chosen by Philip "PM" Michaels. Bel Biv Devoe's "Poison" is the station's sample track. The seventh station offers a considerable change of pace with Radio:X, the self described home of modern rock voiced by Sage, a female DJ. Rage Against the Machine's "Killing In the Name" is the sample track.

The eighth station is K-Rose, a country station whose DJ, Marybeth Maybell, spins tunes such as the sample track, "Crazy," by Willie Nelson. The ninth station, Radio Los Santos, features DJ Julio G who fits the west coast hip hop station's attitude. The late, great 2Pac's "I Don't Give a F***" is the sample tune. The last station on the site is SF-UR, a house music station whose DJ, Hans Oberlander, is an excitable fellow. Raze's "Break 4 Love" is the station's sample tune.

Just below the stereo on the site is an alcove with a sleeve for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas that, when clicked, offers additional details on the upcoming double CD soundtrack for the game. The 2 CD set will be released by Interscope Records and should be on store shelves November 23rd.

The section also encourages readers to return this Monday for a full tracklist of the 2-CD set. As for the actual game, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 2 on October 26.

Metal Gear Soild 3 Snake Eater

Fans of Solid Snake are one month away from the jungle adventure of a lifetime. Konami announced today that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the concluding chapter in the stealth action trilogy, will launch in the US on November 17.

The brainchild of Konami producer Hideo Kojima, Snake Eater looks to introduce sweeping changes to both the gameplay and the storyline of the famed series. Since the game is set in the 1960s, it is not yet clear whether the Solid Snake glimpsed in the early trailers and demos is indeed the same covert agent players took the role of in the original game. The jungle setting means that Snake's skill at camouflage will determine his ability to hide from guards this time around, and if he wants to stay healthy, he'll have to eat some of the local wildlife.

As with 2001's Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, the US version of this title will be released first. Snake Eater will hit Japan on December 16.

i was reading a gaming mag over the weekend and they listed: let me ride & ain't nothing but a g thang as two songs on the list.

you know i have it preordered and i looked at my calendar the other day and i got all happy cuz i have it listed to come out 10/19. so i call the store yesterday cuz i saw on their site it listed as 10/26 release. they say oh yeah it was pushed back a week. man i was all pissed.

I downloaded it and it worked for me, it is awesome, you can actually jump out of a plane and use a parachute, you can put Nitros on your car (you can also totally customize it), this game is seriously going to be afuckingmazing!

Okay, this is by far not the best game ever made, but it is definitely a fun game to play when you're hanging out with some friends.

Strike Force Bowling for Playstation 2

I just picked it up (only $9.99 at Best Buy) and couldn't stop playing it. If you are looking for a sports type game to play with your friends, it's definitely worth the ten bucks.

I agree but it's not without it's flaws, the Jedi are pretty worthless in Battle, you can't play any other charactrers (Jedi, Ewoks, etc...) and the vehicles move a little too fast for the worlds, other than that it is really great.

I would take off the rest of the week of school if I could, but I can't so I will play it from 2:30 PM until about 8:00 each night. To anyone that hasn't heard yet the game will be over 200 hours long!!!!
