I just picked up GAR's new comic by DC called Toe Tags. It's a great zombie tale featuring a zombie slayer that is half zombie, half human.......and it has an elephant. What more do you deadheads want!?

Here's the cover of issue 2.....DISCUSS!

Unfortunately the store where I get my books didn't have it but I was able to buy it off Ebay so at least I'll be able to give it a look.

If I had a scanner I'd do it in a heatbeat.

I got issue one today, along with The Nail issue 4 and a couple of Lady Death Art Specials. I wasnt as impressed as i wanted to be with toe tags, but its pretty good anyway. The guy in question is basically a zombie that can think like a human, and is still in love with his girlfriend. I really wanna read issue 2 to find out how he gets like this. Hey Commando, any idea when Barbaras tales issue 2 is out?

Got the second issue of this series awhile back. I don't think that comics are the best media for Romero to pursue. His vision is definitely more fitting for the big screen. It just seems to me that every character in this series is hopelessly one dimensional. The 'hero' of the story can be summed up as being a zombie batman.....even though all he has done thus far is shoot zombies with his shotgun.

I can see some ties to Land of the Dead though, at least the way that there are corporate big shots making life for the common folk tough......

Its very odd, definately not what i was expecting. Hopefully it will expand somewhat cos im a little dissapointed so far, we can but hope.

I got the new one. Hun-Gar is pretty cool. I can imagine this making one kickass movie, but whoever illustrates this comic just isn't doing a good job at capturing that cinematic feel.....

Im still not sure if i like this comic yet, its growing on me though. I like how there are different little armies, like the rebels running from the real Army because they cant be trusted, and then Hun Gars big undead posse on top of that. Its getting better, but still not quite what i'd hoped for.

I think it's becoming much better, with more politicl commentary slowly seeping in....GAR style!

Check out this other cover......

I've been liking it so far.I wasn't sure what to think of the "smart" zombie but he's not as bad as I thought.

Well the series is long dead and I think it's safe to say that penning comic books isn't Romero's bag.

I have to agree. It wasn't bad but I had higher hopes for it since Romero was involved.

I just thought it would be a hell of alot better. I think his vision lends itself better to the cinematic form. If this was a movie I'd claw through dead baby carcassess to see it. However, as a comic I felt Remains and Walking Dead turned out alot better than this piece.
