Ok, I need help.
I want to buy Black Christmas on DVD. What Release should I get. Region is not a option. Prefer Region 1, but what ever is the best. I read on Itsmebilly.com that the UK one that is in 5.1 is pretty good but I want everyone's opinion.
PLEASE HELP!

Yeah, I'd say go for the Critical Mass release as well. I just bought it actually so I should be getting it in the mail very soon.
I hear the earlier one was in 1.33:1 full frame, while the Critical Mass one is a 1.66:1 non-anamorphic widescreen transfer.

Since when did body count equate to the quality of the movie?
By the way dear, there were more people killed than just two throughout the movie. It runs 98 minutes total. ;)
Perhaps if you paid attention you would see this.

Indeed that is the great mystery of the film. We find that the murderer remains in the house at the end of the film, the phone rings and rings as the unsuspecting Jess lay asleep from her night of terror. Little does she know it has just begun!
I liked that ending most of all, at first I thought it was heading the obvious route but nope we get a gut-retching twist at the end.

Oh that was the ending. I was kind of confused. I thought it was Olivia Hussey's boyfriend, Peter. I thought he had some split personality, that's why he had those outbursts of anger like when he breaks the piano . Guess that ending wanted you to try and suspect. I didn't catch the ending though. I was watching it at 5 in the morning. But this movie scared me. I was watching it in my dark room. The part that creeped me out was when Olivia Hussey finds her friends bodies in the room, and she looks through the crack of the door, and the killer is peeking through and talking to her in a low and shrill voice. It was creepy. It wasn't one of those killer-jumps-out-at-you scenes

I was wondering if anyone could help me?
I was just looking online to buy the Black Christmas DVD - they have the regular one and the SE one.
Does anyone know if one is better than the other - or is it not much difference besides the price?
Just wondering, thanks in advance for any help ;)

I got this movie for Christmas, and I must say I was quite entertained by it. Not exactly a gore-fest slasher, but still pretty chill-enducing throughout. The voice on the phone alone would have been enough to get me to switch to AT&T...
I have to admit, I was pretty shocked when Margot Kidder was killed. I was sure she was the "main character", being one of the bigger names in the cast.
In other news, "Phyl" may be one of the biggest in-the-closet lesbians that sorority will ever see...

I just recently saw this movie, and that part really scared the crap out of me. This was a very good movie, especially considering it was pre-Halloween and came out before the slasher genre. I saw it on TV, but now I'm gonna be looking for the DVD.
