This wasn't much of a zombie movie, from what I recall. And I recall very little.

First time I saw the original, I felt like I paid $17 for a crappy movie on DVD. It was boring. Really boring.

Second time I watched it... It took awhile to get going, but suddenly during a point in the movie, I found it working brilliantly.

Anyway, about all remakes I feel the same (that's not true). The new style of horror doesn't produce fun bad movies. And what really makes any of the new horror films any good is real intelligence. So, hopefully this one finds something interesting to do with the characters. We've already seen about a billion new horror movies about plagues and a group of survivors in a dreaded situation and the apocalypse, you name it. The disaster-horror involving zombies, plagues, etc... everything's been done already.

And when the trailer comes out, it'll homogenize the story. So, I'll wait for the reviews from the really serious critics (wherever they are).

I get to be a photo double on this tomorrow. I don't know how the film'll turn out, but the actual shots look great.

I have yet to watch the original (I have failed Romero!) but this remake looks pretty darn good. For some reason, the original just didn't appeal to me and I've kept putting it off over the years. I always like to try and watch the original before seeing a remake so hopefully I'll do just that.

Also TDS, you'll have to let us know what part of the movie you're in...that's awesome. :)

When everyone sees the buzz saw in Olyphant's face, I want you to think of me blocking that out with Chris Carnel. I put my life on the line, yo.

Well, I guess you don't have to wait to see it in theaters. Here's the buzz saw scene I was talking about:

I loved the original, it had it's moments but it was definitely an original. Great story, perfect for a remake - if done right.

Currently has a 90% rating on rottentomatoes. I'm quite surprised by that. Usually critics hate these kinds of movies. I can't wait to see it!

It's down to 70%. But that's still exceptional for a modern horror remake.

I think I need to have a line to be famous. (That's a plug for 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams. Buy it on DVD, people!)

Really? Why's that? I thought it had some dull moments but all in all was quite entertaining.

Yeah I'm the reverse of that. One or two cracking moments and mostly dull. The whole car wash scene was pure adrenaline, absolutely brilliant stuff and one or two other parts were interesting but for large parts of it I was checking my watch. Different strokes eh.
