I really liked the way these two portrayed the kids. They really reminded me of the characters Brian Andrews and Kyle Richards originated, but with more attitude and smart-mouths.

What about you guys?

The kids are actually one of the few things I liked about RZH. I liked how they were spunky.

Would the space time continuum explode if you met the new Tommy Doyle?

While I liked the new Lindsay,I thought she did a terrific job and her expressions were great when seeing Michael,I thought Brian Andrews was also brilliant as Tommy. His deliverance of "Who is it" and "I saw the boogeyman!"...timeless.So for me the new Lindsay and the original Tommy.

What did you think about Skyler Gisondo as Tommy? What was it like to see someone else play Tommy?

I think Skyler and Jenny did a great job. They seemed to have great chemistry and def both had the right amount of attitude and spunk to pull of today's kids. That believable bond that Skyler, Jenny, & Scout made in the movie made Michael and the movie all that more terrifying during the classic chase scene of Laurie to the Doyle house. IMO

I thought they were great. I'll honestly admit that I liked the kids more in the remake than in the original.

I think they did a good job as Tommy Doyle and Lindsay Wallace. Gave it a comical angle with their smart remarks and such....I didn't find them to be annoying kids or anything. Overall, they did well.

You could've used almost any kids and I wouldn't have known the difference. I don't wanna bash a little kid, but I think they had Lindsey (Jenny) overact with her screaming. The boy wasn't that bad, but I honestly didn't care for those characters. I'd take Brian Andrews and Paris Hilton's aunt anyday.

but I honestly didn't care for those characters.

That's kind of how I feel about the kids in the original. They certainly weren't terrible characters, but they weren't developed enough for me to care too much about them.

And I admitted it before, but I like the kids in the remake more than the kids in the original. They just played their parts a lot better, hence making me care about them more.

The kids in the original had much more scenes and character development.

Well, you're right about them having more scenes, but I don't agree about them having more character development. There aren't any scenes in the film that make me think of Tommy or Lindsay as being anything more than the kids that Annie and Laurie are watching.

Tommy's the kid who gets picked on at school and the kid who hides things from his parents. He likes to be sneaky... in the original.

What do you know about the new Tommy besides he likes jelly sandwiches and hates peanut butter?

Tommy in the remake seems to have a fascination with folklore and whatnot, and he likes Halloween a lot.

So yeah, they're about the same when it comes to character development. The only difference is that one actor played it better than the other.

During the ending credits, has anyone else noticed how incorrectly Tommy's last name is spelled?

Because Tommy Doyle and Lindsay Wallace were in full force in the final act in the film! Do yourself a favor, and watch the DVD to refresh your memory! :p

Wow, kids sure do grow up fast these days...a little too fast.

I never said I won't watch it. I have close to 40 movies still wrapped. I buy movies that I want, but I don't always have time to watch them right away.

EDIT:

Watched the movie yesterday. I can't believe I forgot the kids were in the movie after seeing how much of the movie they were actually in. That being said, Tommy "Doyal" (what? Even the subtitles spell it that way) was incredibly annoying and I really, really hated his character. Acting wise I think Skyler did a good job. Lindsey Wallace was all right character wise, and I think Jenny did a good job. I like the originals better, but for the parts in this movie, I think they both did well.

They did an excelent job in their respective roles. It was funny how much they look like the original actors from 1978.

This is the one thing I prefer over the original. I felt that the kids actually acted like kids and were much more likeable. When Michael shows up, I really felt for them and it was heartbreaking to see them actually being scared.

My favorite Tommy line: "Thats not appropriate babysitter behavior, Laurie!"

My favorite Lindsey line is when she is talking to Annie, who yells at her for not getting her coat on.
