I am new to the Horror Movie Genre and since this is the Zombie Movie thread I was wondering what some of you experts thought (if you have seen this movie)... Would it be considered a Zombie Movie? I remember when it came out in the 80s and I saw it so many times. It was pretty good, I haven't seen it in so long.

It has a few cool scenes in it. For the most part it is trash.

I don't like reviving old threads, but here's some cool news regarding Night of the Comet on DVD...finally!

2 weeks away and I'm excited. I almost bought something on eBay, but I held off.

I thought it was a typical 80's film... and I loved that.

Surprisingly enough and believe it or not, NIGHT OF THE COMET has turned out to be a crowd pleaser when we put up movies on the BIG screen over here. Sure, it's not a top zombie flick but it's always been kinda fun to watch.. love the music.

The lead chick is hot....the rest was blah. It should have been more of a comedy. More valley girl. More Clueless meets Return of the Living Dead.

And there wasn't nearly enough zombies....

I have this on VHS. It's alright, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's terrible. It really didn't have enough zombie action, so that did take away from it a bit.

I bought this and watched it for the first time since it came out. It does have some good moments, and some great eighties flashbacks, but I didn't like it as much as I remembered. While it's listed in the Zombie genre, it's a poor homage to zombies. A fun little flick when you have nothing else to watch though.

Hey TS....I'm glad you liked it. It's a fun flix to watch. I think I'll drag out the old reels of film and call all the new neighbors over for a movie night.

I've decided that this movie sucks on all levels. No boobs. Almost nill gore. NOT fun.

I think Lifeforce might be more to your liking, but either way I thought Night of the Comet was rather good too.

This was from that whole era when Haley's Comet was about ready to come into viewing, erm circa 1986 was it?

Twisted Sister

Yeah, it was 86, not that alot of people got to see it. It kind of was like the 50's with the UFO/Aliens craze...haha...I don't know, it's a harmless enough movie, but I don't think it belongs in the Zombie genre with the Great Ones, haha...

Lifeforce - there's a blast from the past!

Lifeforce has the lesbian space vampire, right?

And no, I haven't seen Night Of The Comet in full yet.

Night of the Comets does have a zombie aspect to it, well erm sort of. :)

Night of the Comet, Lifeforce and there was this other movie from around that era with Kathleen Quinlan and GW Bailey which involved zombies after a toxic spillage remind me of the good ole days.

But anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing Night of the Comet again, I remember on the video case there was a picture on the back and the dude looked very much like Freddy Kruger.

I thought this was a pretty good movie. It wasn't as action packed as I thought it would be. And I was also hoping there'd be more zombies. But overall it's a fun, campy film.

I can watch this movie over and over MGM HD has been showing it lately as well. I love films where the main characters wake up in or visit an empty/nigh empty town that has a hidden terror.

My thoughts exactly. I have watched this film countless times.

I love this movie. It's utterly ridiculous & is like watching a 1980s music video.

I finally got around to watching this and while I did like it, I was a little let down in some regards.

While I can understand it being bloodless due to the PG-13 rating, but the action was a little sparse.

Also, it would have been nice to see what happened around the world, even if was just briefly mentioned.

I liked it up until the point where the girls got kidnapped by the scientists. I didn't care for the direction after that.

I seriously love everything about this movie, the 80s kitsch is just awesomely played up. I wish it would get a bluray release, I treasure my DVD.

For those of you interested in this old cult classic, the BD transfer is very good. The track has been enhanced and sounds much better than it ever did on 35mm. I was surprised to discover there's a website and Face Book following for this movie. Crazy stuff!!
