"Let me ask you a question.. do you like drinkin? Hell ya like drinking.. who the hell don't? - Uncle Jemima from SNL :)
Ok.. so there have been quite a few boozehounds in the Halloween series.. who do you think had the worst drinking problem depending on what you heard or saw in the movies. Hands down for me.. I'd have to say Laurie in H20.. she's seems to have developed a strong liking for the booze since her brother tried to kill her a few years ago.. which is understandable. :)
Oh.. and last time I tried this poll I didn't ass a few characters from H3.. but since there was some drinking going on in that movie.. it seemed only right to add in Doc Challis. :)

I would have to vote for Laurie. She's hitting the hard stuff at work while in control of a school. Now that is what I call a drinking problem...lol

My vote goes to Dr Mixter. My guess is that he shows up to work drunk more times than sober.
Ben Tramer.......ha ha....Stupid Fuck.

Haha.Kickass poll.
I'll go with Dr.Mixter.That sumbitch has issues.Being drunk while on the job is one thing..but if youre a doctor, that can be fatal to more than one person. That needle to the eye was well deserved, since Michael couldnt stick it somewhere else.

I haven't seen H8 in awhile.. I forget if there was any drinking going on in that movie.. I think they were just smoking weed at one point.. anybody remember?
And I was gonna add Ms. Mack from Black Christmas just for the hell of it.. but I was afraid she might get all the votes. :)
Excellent poll! :D
The thought of Ben Tramer and your description made me laugh the most.
We also have the rednecks in H4 - they shoot one of their own! :p

I have to go with John Strode on this one. He was a grade A d-bag before he was even schnockered, and alcohol didn't help at all. He got cocky about taking the Boogeyman down, and paid the price. Also, the alcohol on his breathe could have been why his head exploded. Sparks flew and PUH-POW! ;)

Although Challis is the man, Dr. Mixter gets my vote because for some reason he's one of my favorite characters and is kind of cool in a way. In H2 he is clearly drunk from the party and shouldn't have gotten wasted while on duty. A plus in the TV cut is that he's in a lot more scenes. I don't like him because he's a drunk but in the same token he happens to be my favorite one.
But Challis comes in a close 2nd place. He's still the man ;)

I chose Dr. Mixter.
When you are in such a profession behavior of that nature is completely unacceptable. The hospital staff spoke freely about it as if it was nothing- a clear indication that it wasn't a first occurrence.
In the television cut we see Dr. Mixter sitting by Laurie's side questioning his work and whether she'll get a scar or not. He certainly doesn't seem to be collective, in an incompetent state of mind.

Dr. Mixter from H2 - Gets sauced and operates on patients at HMH. What kinda doc was he????????? I just had surgery and thank goodness Dr. M was not there lol
I am baffled why people are SO down on Bob from H2. Linda was a lucky girl... He had a cool van and for the 70's was a pretty hip dressing and good looking guy IMO. GO LINDA :yar:

Hilarious poll. I voted for Ben Tramer, he was obviously very bombed when he walked into oncoming traffic, he also burned up very quickly, although he may just have been binge drinking. Honorable mention to the Rednecks from H4. I just watched it today again, and good old Earl finished off his beer before he and the boys go out to see why the phone was just ringing at the cop shop. Because a phone don't just ring at a police station. No way, no how.
P.S. Perhaps Wade from H4 was drinking too. How else to explain the lines he spouted, and the thought that he could actually get with the Sherriff's daughter. Maybe he had a false sense of confidence from the primo haircut he had.

Dr. Mixter. He was just plain irresponsible showing up drunk from a party one minute, operating on someone's body the next. Seems like he can succeed in performing surgeries while intoxicated, but can't keep a clear thought. Mixter's a doctor,o that was very unprofessional of him.
rev. sayer from h4. all the guy did was sing, drink, drive, hunt damnation, and did i forget to mention ...drink. drinking and driving is dangerous you know.

I chose Starker "the bum from H3".
I don't believe alchohol became so much a part of his life until Cochran took over Santa Mira, though. Think of it this way, Cochran refused him a job at the factory AND Starker knew what was going on once he established the mask making era of his business. I believe Starker's habit was a mere victim of circumstance.
Besides...he has one of the best lines of the series....
"Hey Cochran...FUCK YOU!!!"

No doubt Dr. Mixter is leading...
"Mix" is in his last name. It's in the genes. One of his belligerent ancestors probably used to go around, slurring (talking to bartender), " Listen, Mixter, eerr I mean, Mister, I'm gonna kicks your ass, if you don't pour me anotha"
Showing up for lit and late for work, that takes years of ballsy boozin'

I still go with Laurie. It takes a serious alkie to be able to drink all day without showing any effects. After all the alcohol she consumed in H20, she should have been three sheets to the wind. But no, after all that chardonay and vodka, she was still able to get the best of Michael......at least till he tricked her into cutting off the wrong guys head. On second thought, maybe she was pretty blitzed after all.

I voted for Starker(the bum) from H3...but not because alchohol ruined his life. I've always felt that Starker was a lifer in Santa Mira...far before Cochran moved in and reigned over the domicile.
Perhaps, the chilling thought of never being able to leave your home town unless an evil force said it was okay. Perhaps every move that you made was monitored on camera would be enough to drive a normal person to drink their lives away.

I had to give it to John Strode ... At least most of the others had reasons for wanting to drink so much ... That son of a bitch didn't realize how good he had it ... Not the hottest of wives, but at least she cleaned up after his lazy ass, did his laundry, put up with his b.s. ... He got a hell of a deal on a home (well, initially it was a hell of a deal - ended up becoming the the reason for his demise, but ... whatever) ... Anyway, it's not like he even had to drink to have an excuse for bein' such a prick!

well true he don't have much of an excuse to drink like some others but then again the man had a whole lot to deal with. the pressure of living in that house. and the fights with his daughter he had. most everybody had a reason to drink but Dan in H3. Who said that ben tramer was drunk?
In my observance, he was simply confused to see a cop and an old man running toward him with a gun. He simply didn't know what do or where to go. Why does everyone assume that he was drunk. Of all we know ben tramer might have been a mentally challenged person.
We don't know anything about this character. This guy could be related to myers or laury for all we know. This could be another idea for the producer's of Halloween series. To make up a history concerning ben tramer, michael and laury. Then we can fill in the gap between H2 and H4 or H2 and H20.

Have you seen H2? It was clearly stated that Ben left the party and his friends were worried that he wasn't home yet, even though it was only a little after 11 according to Hunt. "He was pretty drunk" his friends told Hunt.

I would so have to go with Ben Tramer. I laugh my ass off when I think about how he got rammed to a vehicle after the whole Myers mix up. Yeah it's wrong, I know, but hey...it's funny as shit.
Thinking about it here in this message board and looking at it on the poll just made me roll. I had to just choose him.
Although the Reverend from H4(Carmen Filipi, in his scene with Loomis, is another reason to dig H4) was great and I still get a kick out of that hitchhiker scene .

John Strode in H6. Who ever taps vodka at work and is as big of an asshole as he is, the alcohol without a doubt messed up his life.

Thought I would bump this classic OHMB thread up and see if catches on. If not oh well :p.
A classic from the creative mind of scissorhands. So just who is the baddest of the bunch in a series littered with booze and those that can't get enough of it?

Definately Doctor Challis from H3. It seemed like every other sentence he spoke was about needing a drink.
I'm sure if that homeless guy hadn't gotten his head ripped off, him and Challis would have become fast friends.

Bentramer and John Straode are tied as the drunken masters with both having 19 votes thanks to me boosting Tramers.

I probably have to go with Laurie Strode in H20 as I think it's set up in that movie that she's clearly a full blown alcoholic with absolutely no real debate about whether that's fact or not.

Tough one. I voted John Strode.

I said Lynda from H1 because her drunken line "see anything you like" is a classic line/scene from the halloween series. And I would also say Ben Trammer because his death scene was awesome.

Bob from H1, Jimmy wasn't in H20 unless he was in the workprint, because I never saw it.

You don't recall Jimmy? You know, the guy with the hockey stick who gets it with the ice skate?

Dr. Mixter is my favorite. Any town where the main doc at the Hospital can be blitzed is ok in my book.. unless I'm bleeding or something.

The homeless dude from H3, he could have bought down the Silver Shamrock company himself had it not been for his love of the sauce.

The Reverend. I'm not sure if he's the biggest, but he's the best.

I voted for Dr. Mixter for the same reasons everyone has said. Even though I won't be operating on anybody *halleluia* I am studying in the medical field and can't imagine the nerve of that guy doing anything DRUNK!
John Strode would be a good 2nd place finisher, though. Hated that guy.

I never realized how many drunks there were in the Halloween movies until I saw this poll. I would have to say Ben Tramer was an absolute idiot for walking out into incoming traffic... but Dr. Mixter is totally hammered but yet he goes and does surgery on people and no one ever questions his ability to cut open people while under the influence... but the worst alcoholic of all would probably have to be Dan Challis from Halloween 3. He's constantly either drinking or being commented on his drinking. When he calls his ex wife Linda to tell her to get rid of the masks he goes, "No, Linda, I'm not drunk. Just shut up just listen you have to get rid of the masks!" Obviously he's always drunk or else she wouldn't have made that comment. But anyways there are really a lot of people with drinking problems in the series, and I never even noticed it. ha.

John Strode. Not only is he an asshole, he's a drunken asshole.
But my favorite drunk is the Rev. It's fun watching him and Loomis drown a bottle having some laughs.

Ronnie White from RZH could definitely be on this list too.. what an alcoholic douche bag he was.. jeezus.

What about the booze hounds who shoot Ted hollister! they were langered and one shot just want enough!
Laurie in H20. Until she finally decides to face the evil, alcohol seemed to be the only solution of all of her problems.
John Tate comes very close as a second candidate. Laurie at least had a big trauma to deal with, but he was pissed off constantly for no concrete reason.
