I truly hate to make a thread for this, but it's driving me absolutely crazy. My ps2 refuses to read my NFL 2k5 disc. Before I would have to reset it a few times, but it would eventually start the game. I've been resetting for about the past half hour and nothing. When I pop in something like GTA: vice city it starts right up. So this is pretty simple... Have any of you guys ever experianced this? And if so, what did you do?

P.S.- No, the disc is not scratched. It's perfectly fine.

Thanks.

I just run a DVD cleaner through it and it works fine. :)

Mike the dvd cleaner thing makes sense, but I don't understand why if it needs cleaned, it would still run VC as if nothing was wrong.

that sounds odd to me, i'd give a call down to your local video game store, like babbages, or gamestop, even EB games, if you have one... :) haha. Those guys know EVERYTHING about video games.

Same thing happened to me. First off, how long have you had your PS2? Mine was one of the originals and I ran a cleaner (a disc with a brush to clean the lens) through a bunch of times, well that brush on it knocked out the lens cover for the laser disc reader thing, I had to get a new PS2 last year because of it. Don't open the PS2 yourself, that will void the warranty, try blowing some compressed air into the disc drive but be careful not to get any moisture into it, that's all I can say for now.

BTW Ringu, Thanks for the help man, but this thread is extremely old and I resolved the problem by purchasing a new ps2 back in October. After I bought GTA: SA it worked for like the first day, then my ps2 started the same BS with that game, so I just said screw it and bought one of the new slim ones.

Yeah, until I read this post, I thought it was a new thread too.

The idea isn't for you to spam the board with nonsense until you've reached enough posts to create a thread.

Whoops, sorry, I didn't see the date on it and it was at the top of the thread list and I figured it was new.

Will you please jus quit it already. It's getting very old and nobody is in the mood. I suggest the next time that you feel an urge to embarrass yourself and bore others, that you summon all your might, and resist.

It's called maturity, I know you weren't referring to me but you were to my friends and that isn't cool. So right now I am going to be the bigger man and leave...

umm....no.

To bring back an old thread to merely say "true"...a thread that's 4 months old? There is NO point.

Watch yourself..

I should finish you now. Consider this a warning. I don't mind pressing the button.
