It's only one of the best out there!

Everyone did their part in making this a great flick. And I LOVE Connick, Jr. What a hottie. Not in this movie, of course, but in real life.

Yes, I would highly recommend it. Esp if you're big on true crime like I am!

I just bought the OOP Region 1 DVD last week and I'm glad I found it. I watched it a while back and I really enjoyed it. Definitely does its job when it comes to keeping up the suspense.

I rented this movie, loved it, and then went out and bought it on DVD. Id recommended it for anyone who likes good cop thrillers (kiss the girls, seven, etc)

It's one of my favorites. I think Seven kind of stole it's thunder a little. I read an article with Sigourney Weaver saying she begged the movie studios not to open it so close to Seven. It was released less then a month away.

It is pretty dated for being only 10 years old though. Mainly because of the computer scenes. All movies from this era suffer greatly from putting computers in the movies.

Still a classic though.

My favourite Sigourney movie. When I rented the VHS some years ago I didn't expect it to be good but it was. I'm obsessed with [real life] serial killers and I absolutely loved that movie. Kudos to Sigourney and Holly.

Really good flick. Who'd have thought Harry Connick Jr. could be threatening?

What's the name of that dude who was the Copycat? Was he in anything else? His face doesn't ring a bell.

I need to buy the DVD.

I need to buy the DVD. William McNamara.

He's been in about 50 movies. Check out IMDB for a complete list.

Copycat was a good little movie that happened to come out at the wrong time. At the time, it didn't seem quite as good. Why? Because of the competition. Namely, Se7en.

Next to the gritty urban Hell of Se7en, Copycat seemed too polished, and a bit contrived. It holds up well, though, when one doesn't compare the two. But at the time, Se7en was so mindblowing that Copycat just seemed like your usual run-of-the-mill slicked-up serial killer flick by comparison...at least to me.

Copycat is a better than average serial killer movie. It's nothing spectacular but has no glaring flaws, either

That's pretty much my critique as well.

I understand what EOTL is saying, but I gotta love my Copycat.

I love it, too...I love it more now than I did in '95, though. I'm able to distance it from Se7en now. It was never a bad movie...it's just that after you've been punched in the face by a movie like Se7en, a movie like Copycat doesn't deliver because it doesn't hit as hard. It looks a lot better to me now than it did then, though...because I'm able to separate it from Se7en. The problem for me was that Copycat was literally released one month after Se7en...and Se7en was a tough act to follow.

right, when two movies are similiar and released around the same time it's hard to seperate them. I never had this problem with Copycat, because I didn't see either it or Se7en until way after their release.

Ah, yes...that would eliminate the problem for you. But that was the reason I didn't enjoy Copycat as much on the first viewing as I've enjoyed it since...because I saw it almost immediately after seeing Se7en...which, due to the nature of that film, was still firmly embedded in my mind. And if you go into Copycat looking for another movie like Se7en, you're bound to be at least a little disappointed.
