As we all know it seems as if the score for Rob Zombie's Halloween is not going to be released anytime soon. But that doesn't mean we can't hear it.

I got an email from Kevin Murnane who has been in contact with Tyler Bates. Tyler sent him a promo copy of the score. Some of you may or may not know what a promo score is, but that's not really important though at this junction.

What is important is that Kevin has decided to share the score with those of us here at the OHMB. I have added the 33 tracks from the promo score to the music section above. Enjoy the score and please be sure to give thanks to Mr. Murnane for sharing with us.

Thanks for sharing, pretty cool.

However, I did prefer Tyler's score in the Workprint much more... I know there was a lot of temp music in there too, but there were some pieces I really dug and was disappointed not to hear in the theatrical... especially the music during the rape escape and the basement/chase scenes.

A lot of that temp music in the workprint is actually taken from Tylers score for the "Dawn of the Dead" remake...you can download that online too as it was also only a promotional CD.

I heard about that, haven't seen that remake though, must check it out when I get a chance.

My dad and sister saw it being filmed.

Anyways, The music was the sole good thing about the remake.

The score is ok, nothing mind blowing, neither it the best or the worst.

I enjoyed the updated Halloween theme, especially when it kicked in at the end (unfortunately this is how it should have been after the prologue ala WP), but H4's techno revamp still takes second place for me.

Im with you on that one.
I now have the Dawn remake soundtrack and there are a lot of tracks that have the music on Halloween albeit not long enough.
Tyler must have remixed the same tracks and extended them on the Halloween workprint soundtrack because they seem too short on the Dawn soundtrack.

But thanks again to Deadpool and Mr. Murnane for putting this up here, much appreciated. I'd buy it.

It might be music from the Dawn of The Dead remake, since some of that was used in the workprint.

You need a program like WinRAR to extract the files. You then just extract the folder to whatever place you want it to go on your computer, and the mp3's should be there. Just load them up on something like Windows Media Player, and burn away.

Since I have no idea how to do that...sorry...I still need it burned to a disc.

Download WinRAR here:

http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10745708.html

okay, after that is downloaded...

1) Go to the Tyler Bates score file, it should now have a WinRAR icon, recognizing it as a Rar file. Double-click.
2) It will open the file in WinRAR, select 'Extract To'. A window will open asking you what folder you want it to go to. Select what folder you want, and click 'OK'.
3) It will start extracting the files
4) Open Windows Media Player (assuming you have Windows)
5) Go to file, and click 'Open'
6) Find the folder you extracted the files to
7) When you do, open all the files by left-hand click, and drag the mouse over the files to highlight them all, and select 'Open'. Or you can simply select them one by one, by right-hand clicking each, and left-hand clicking 'Add To Now Playing List'.
8) Windows Media Player will start playing them. Put in a blank CD-R into your CD drive.
9) While the files are still playing, select 'Burn' on WMP.
10) Then select 'Now Playing' on the left side (this is instructions according to Version 11 of WMP)
11) Drag the files you want to be burned to the 'Burn List'
12) Then select 'Start Burn'

This is how I do it, and this is assuming you have Windows, Windows Media Player (on all versions of Windows), and the most up to date version of WMP.

Hope this helps, if not. I tried. Best of luck. :)

I love the score to the movie and have it all on my mp3 plyer and on a burnt disc, but the last track Halloween Ends, not that I don't like it, it just well seems like Bates just mashed The Mask and H2007 together, I could do that. That was never played in the movie. The Version of Halloween Ends in the movie is the Original theme mixed with the new Theme from the movie. That is how the track Halloween Ends should be in the first place.
