O.k.. so Tim Burton doesn't really do all out horror movies.. but I figured this is the best place for a thread like this.

I picked Edward Scissorhands (duh) but close second would be either Ed Wood or Sleepy Hollow.. speaking of which.. if anyone has a Suncoast video near them.. they've been doing a whole two for twenty dollars thing with DVDs. Last time I was there they had Beetlejuice and Sleepy Hollow, along with a few other horror flicks. The extras and shit on most of the DVDs are nothing spectacular.. but whatever.. its nice to see a good transfer of them.

And one other thing.. did anyone ever notice the constant black and white stripes motif that he has in all of his movies.. there's either someone wearing black and white stripes, spots, checkers or some object or thing will be black and white striped? Its pretty cool to look out for things like that in his movies.

Sleepy Hollow, that's my favorite film of the 90's.

The Nightmare Before Christmas was such a cute movie, all of us at home just love it. Burton's finest work in my opinion, from the characters to the story to the set design. I haven't seen it in a while, maybe one day I'll pop in the tape.

Though I know I should be wary, still I venture someplace scary!
Ghostly hauntings I turn loose...

Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!

I also used to watch the Beetlejuice cartoon show every Saturday morning. I remember having a beetlejuice lunchbox one year for school. Oh heck I even had a beetlejuice pull-string doll that spun its head around!

It's so hard to choose,it's either Edward Scissorhands or Sleepy Hollow. Nightmare Before Christmas is cool to.

Holy shit. Burton directed Pee-Wee's Big Adventure? No wonder Large Marge still haunts my dreams...

Anyway, it's a tie between Pee-Wee, Sleepy Hollow, Beetlejuice, and Edward Scissorhands.

Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, and Sleepy Hollow are my favorites on the list. It's SO difficult to choose just one. You know what I think would be awesome? If he directed one of the future Harry Potter films!

since i like halloween (the day) so much, i went with sleepy hallow because i thought he capture the feeling of halloween so well in it. plus it's always cool to see casper van dien get ripped in two at the midsection. i like the other movies on this list too, especially the batman movies.

It's a tie between Mars Attacks and Sleepy Hollow for me. Maybe Sleepy Hollow just about takes it.

Edward Scissorhands was also very good. Is he still on to direct the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? (I haven't heard anything about this in a while)

Same ones that I was choosing between. I plumped for Batman in the end, as he took it to a whole new level.

I was dissappointed with Nightmare Before Christmas, but that was probably because I had my hopes built up for it.

And, yes, he is still on for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367594/)

I voted for Beetlejuice. I've loved this movie since I was a wee one. Michael Keaton is amazing in the role, and the whole movie rocks. I love the De-Oh scene. The movie is full of great special effects and makes death seem cool. :D

Beetlejuice narrowly beat Edward Scissorhands. I guess it's the Winona Ryder connection, I love me some Winona. Edward Scissorhands is a great flick. Tim Burton's vision is very interesting, and I like every movie of his I've seen.

That just reminded me of something funny.. Johnny Depp and her used to go out or some shit.. Johnny got "Winona Forever" tattooed on his one arm.. then they split up a little while later. Since Depp didn't want that crap on his arm anymore he had the "na" in Winona taken off.. and now it just says "Wino Forever" on his arm. :)

"A Nightmare Before Christmas" is a great movie. It has so much charm that when I'm watching it, I can't help but smile. The whole movie has so much heart and warmth all piled up in that story it's unbelievable. And to think... I only discovered this movie a few weeks ago, and it's already one of my favorites ever. Tim Burton has a way of making some really magical movies, and this one is my favorite.
For Halloween I got my girlfriend the original poem with the story book in wich the movie was based off of. I wrapped it in Christmas paper and wrote on it "Merry Halloween!". She loves the movie as much as I do.
It's awesome! What a story!

Beetlejuice was always one of my favourite movies of all time. And it was always and probably always will be my favourite Tim Burton film. He is a god in the movie buisness. I love the rest of his films too.
And yes, Tim Burton directed Pee Wee's Big Adventure. I believe it was his first official feature film he directed. And Large Marge still gives me the creeps too.

My favorite Tim Burton Film would have to be Edward Scissor hands, just getting off Jump street, Johnny Depp was ready to do something as far away from his television character as possible and this was the perfect role for him, Tim Burton created a movie that really pulled you in, for some you could relate to the character and how they are feeling and in others you were drawn to the love a girl could have for Edward someone who is trying to fit in with the regular stream. I am a huge Johnny Depp fan myself and love this movie.

Id have to go with edward sissorhands. Its so sad how he is misunderstood. Plus I love that eerie theme music. However I still didnt get a certain part of it. Did Edward kill the scientist that made him?

No.. he just died of old age or something before he could finish edward.. I thought that too when i first saw it.. especially the shot with edwards scissors stabbing through the fake hands and Vincent Price's facial expression.

I am suprised that no one has mentioned Mars Attacks!.
Such a great homage to all the 50's and 60's alien flicks. Plus a whole list of A-star actors. Michael J. Fox, Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close, Martin Short. Very funny movie.
But in a very close second would have to be Edward Scissorhands for how dark that screenplay. It is such a sad flick.

I already mentioned Edward Scissorhands is my favorite but i never said why. Jonny Depp was scary as hell in this. It was a gothic dark childrens story in a way. Which was weird to me but also interesting. Still this -

Out of all of Tim Burton's masterpieces, I would have to pick The Nightmare Before Christmas because it is the best stop-motion film I have ever seen and the work that went into it is absolutely legendary. To me it is his most brilliant accomplishment. From the music to the characters, it is a timeless classic with a cult status.

Others I love are:
Batman
Beetlejuice
Edward Scissorhands
Pee Wee's Big Adventure

Even Big Fish was absolutely amazing and deserves praise. I also cannot wait for future films of his to come out like Charlie & the Chocolate Factory (I have been dying for this one too long) and The Corpse Bride featuring the voice talent of Johnny Depp (this is another stop-motion film as well).

I can truly say that Burton is a genious.

Now that I think about it, although I like TNBC, I would watch Mars over it any day of the week. So yea, I wanna officially change my vote to Mars Attacks!

Hard choice. I've seen Burton's films ever since I was Nine years old. And all of them either scared me or brought me interest to full enjoyment. But my vote goes for Batman, nothing more then a brilliant classic I keept watching ever since.

2. Beetlejuice - Now this is quite possibly Burton's most craziest film from what I've seen. Its another Burton classic I remember as a kid althought scared me at some parts then ;)

3. Nightmare Before Christmas - Oh damn, its been souch a long time I saw this film, it was great from what I remember. And Boogeyman scared the crap out of me when I saw him.
