I am one of those writers that writes one segment, scene, whatever you would like to call it at a time. I don't use correct techniques so don't expect a perfect script. If you don't know me I was on the other boards as MikesVictim#78 and I wrote a story called Halloween 3 which continued towards the end of Halloween 2, I was unable to finish it because the board closed down and the work is saved the computer that I just put in the garage after stripping it of all the good components. Anyway, the story will start pretty soon I've already gotten everything set up and will write the first peice of it really soon. Here is a brief synopsis of what the story is about.

The Highway
A group of curious teens in Texas go camping out in the deep country. The camping trip goes fairly well and relationships are started... but on the way back they stop at the only town on the long stretch of highway. The storeowner of the small town tells them a story about the long span of Highway they are driving on. The teens dismiss the story as fiction until things go really wrong on the long drive and the trip home turns to madness as they struggle to survive the night.

I hope you guys will enjoy it, since its original it may be hard to follow of course I can't say its totally original because it's probably already been done before, but oh well.

**The sounds of leaves rustling along the ground is broken with a loud slam of a trunk. A man in his late teens just out of highschool steps out from behind the car. He has a Texas Longhorn hat on, and a white muscle shirt. His face is dirty with a five o clock shadow. He pulls out a pack of cigarettes, takes one out and lights it. He takes a puff and leans against the car. The car is a mid 90s Grand Am with a horrible baby blue paint job**

Man: Hey, Brad, get out here.

**An old cabin is shown with the door open. A man with blonde hair down to his shoulders steps out of the cabin. He has a bag straped on his broad shoulders. He steps out of the shadows and into the sun, wearing a sleeveless black shirt that says Rocket Football in red writing. He stretches flexing his massive muscles and lets out a sigh**

Brad: What's up Ryan?

**Brad nods in the direction of the man who is now known as Ryan**

Ryan: What's going on with Jason and the girls?

**Brad looks back towards the cabin**

Brad: Oh, he's helping them with packing, he's such a nice fellow you know.

**Brad's clean shaven face breaks a smile**

Ryan: Wanna hit?

**Ryan holds out his cigarette. Brad shakes his head no**

Brad: My body is a temple, I can't fill it with anything that'll degrade it. Plus if my 40 drops too low I may not start next year at Baylor.

**Ryan points to his hat**

Ryan: This is where it's at. I cannot believe you're going to Baylor.

**Ryan puts his cigarette out**

Brad: You know how my dad is. I wanted to go to Texas, but my dad said I need to go somewhere I'll shine.

Ryan: Yeah yeah.

**Ryan looks up at the sun which is starting to set leaving an blood red glow on everything**

Ryan: We need to get going so we can get on the road before it gets too dark. Once we get on the highway everything is fine, but with all of these backroads I need light to see my way.

**Brad walks back up to the cabin and leans inside the door**

Brad: Lets go guys!

**Brad flies backwards as a busty blonde steps out from out of the doorway. She is wearing very short blue shorts and a green tank top**

Brad: Damnitt Cindy what's your problem?

**Cindy smiles and turns around**

Cindy: Kiss it.

**Brad slaps her butt and she lets out a scream**

Cindy: You ass.

**A brunette walks into view. She shields her crystal blue eyes as the red glow of the sun blinds her for a moment. She is very gorgeous and is dressed conservative with a blue shirt and blue jean pants on. Brad and Ryan look her up and down**

Brad: Hey Chris, you're looking mighty fine today.

Ryan: As always.

**Cindy hits Brad on the chest**

Cindy: You big jock.

**Brad picks her up and plants a big kiss on her lips**

Brad: You know I love you.

**Cindy smiles**

Ryan: Lets go Jason!

**A man in another longhorn hat steps out of the cabin carrying two bags. He is muscularly built and is wearing a sleeveless longhorn shirt with black San Antonio Spurs shorts. Brad looks at him and laughs**

Brad: You sure are a walking billboard Jason.

Jason: What can I say...

**Jason smiles and shoots a look at Christine who smiles at him**

Jason: I'm ready.

**Jason shuts the door of the cabin**

Ryan: Good, lets get this show on the road.

**Ryan jumps onto the hood of his car. He stands up**

Ryan: But before we go I just have to say that this was fun. We've known each other since grade school and now we've graduated and we're moving on. Brad is going to play football at Baylor. Chris and Cindy are going to Texas State, Jason is going to UT and I'm going to bum off my parents, forever. But this was the last horray the last straw... the final ride... whatever you want to call it. And it was a good one. Thanks for the memories everyone. Ok, that's all I wanted to say.

**Ryan gets off his car, he opens the driver side door and gets in. Ryan pops his trunk again and Brad throws his bag in there**

Brad: Shotgun.

**Jason takes off towards the car**

Jason: Don't think so.

**Brad sees him running towards the car and jumps into the passenger seat. Jason slows down and walks to the trunk. He throws the bags in there and shuts the trunk**

Brad: That's what I thought bitch.

Jason: It's alright I'll just ride in the back with your girlfriend.

Ryan: OOOOO.

**Jason gets in as the girls walk towards the other side of the car. Cindy opens the door and goes to get in**

Christine: I'll sit in the middle.

**Cindy looks at her strange and moves back allowing her to get in first. Cindy gets in and shuts the door. Ryan shifts into drive and the car barrels down the road back towards the highway as the darkness begins to engulf the light**

**The baby blue Pontiac turns onto a long straight stetch of desolate highway and then the teens are shown. Christine has put her head on Jason's shoulder and Jason is looking out the window at the sun that is quickly dissapearing into the ground. The land on both sides of the highway is lush deep woods that are so thick one can only see where it begins**

Cindy: This land sure is pretty.

**Cindy peers out the window yawning**

Brad: Not somewhere I'd want to live.

Ryan: Doesn't look like anyone lives out there, except for animals.

Cindy: And bugs with stingers, snakes...

**Cindy shivers and goosebumps rise on her neck**

Brad: The only thing out here is the gas station a few miles down.

Ryan: Yeah, we're going to have to stop there because that's the only civilization for 140 miles.

**The car continues down the road. The light finally fades into darkness as the headlights to the car come on. The car continues down the dark highway, a faint glow down the road begins to brighten. The car begins to slow as the light gets bigger. The car turns into the small gas station and stops at the pump. The teens all get out of the car**

Ryan: I'll pump you guys go inside and get something to eat, go to the restroom, do whatever its a long way back home.

**The teens stretch and walk towards the store as Ryan begins to pump gas. Brad, Jason, Cindy, and Christine step into the store and look around. The lady behind the counter who looks like an old piece of leather gives a toothless smile**

Storeclerk: You guys are back again.

Brad: Yeah, we're heading back home.

**The lady looks out the windows and a look of worry comes on her face**

Storeclerk: At this time of night?

**Brad looks at Jason and smiles**

Jason: Maam its only 8.

Storeclerk: Ah yes I know. But you guys have a good three or four hour drive on your hands.

Brad: Ah, maybe two there is nobody on this road we'll fly right through going 100.

Storeclerk: Yeah, it's probably safer.

**The girls walk towards the back of the store**

Cindy: We're goin potty, be back in a second.

Brad: Need me to hold it for you?

Cindy: Screw you.

**Brad laughs**

Jason: What should we get? Some chips?

Brad: Yeah that'll work.

**Brad leans against the counter**

Brad: So what's the deal with this place?

Storeclerk: What do you mean?

Brad: Well, there's about 200 miles of land... yet nobody lives on it. Nobody really drives this road, and this store?

Storeclerk: Well, this store has been around since I was young.

Brad: Wow.

**The lady glares at him**

Brad: I mean oh.

Storeclerk: And it's just tradition for me to take this over. Doesn't cost me much, I've got a cot in the back where I sleep at night. And during the day I run this place and have crops in the fields behind me. Not much business, on the occasion I get tourists like yourselves nevertheless its cheap, I'm poor it works out.

Brad: I see, it must be very lonely and quiet out here.

Storeclerk: Lonely... yes, quiet? Well that's another story.

Brad: Bugs and coyotes?

Storeclerk: Something like that.

**The bell clings on top of the door and Ryan walks into the store**

Ryan: You guys done your business?

Brad: Yeah the girls are pissin and Jason is getting grub.

Ryan: Good, you going to go?

Brad: To the restroom? Damn, you my father now? Nah, I can hold it if worse comes to worse we can stop on the side of the road and...

Storeclerk: NO.

**Brad and Ryan glance at the storeclerk**

Storeclerk: Just stay on the road, there's no reason to slow down.

**Ryan looks at Brad and whispers**

Ryan: What's that all about?

**Brad shrugs as the girls and Jason walk up to the counter**

Storeclerk: Look, there's things about that road... this highway that you just don't understand, wouldn't ever understand. Take your food and go, don't stop for anything just go.

**The teens look towards one another**

Brad: What the hell?

Ryan: What things are you talking about?

**The lady begins to pace around**

Storeclerk: Look, if I tell you will you go away, will you follow my plan?

Ryan: Yeah, sure... what's going on?

**The lady runs her hand along her face**

Storeclerk: About 30 years ago there was a town about an hour from here, Crystalfield, well there wasn't much in the town, a few houses and a dance club, a very nice dance club. It was called The Highway and it was a place that teens from all around would go to. I could almost hear the music from here it was so loud. In one of about four houses in Crystalfield lived a man named Don and his two daugthers. His wife had died from cancer, so he was a single father. His daugthers were about 12 and 6. He was very protective of them and hated the teens that would party in his town. He was known to the teens as Batty Don because he would stroll into the parking lot and smash out the windows of the teens cars with his wooden baseball bat. One Friday night him and his daughters were driving home, it was late because they had gone into town to pick up things for the week. As Don came up towards Crystalfield he saw a car with its brights on swaying from side to side. Don, flashed his lights it to turn its brights off but the truck didn't turn them off and it didn't slow down, it lost control and straight into Don's truck killing everyone involved. The cops determined that the teens were most likely drunk and unknowingly swerved into Don's truck.

**Cindy and Christine grab each other**

Cindy: How sad.

Storeclerk: This is where it gets weird. The next week the club opened once again and even more teens went this time if not for the club but also to see the tire marks and peices of debris left over from the crash. Nobody knows what happened but somehow the teens were locked inside and the whole place was burned to the ground, killing everyone inside the place.

Christine: Creepy.

Storeclerk: There's more. The next day the sheriff came down to investigate and the only thing he found were shoeprints. Two pairs of really small shoeprints and one pair of larger shoeprints. Everyone around all agreed that it was Don and his two daughters back for revenge. The killings didn't stop there either. Cars began turning up on the side of the roads with broken out windows and bodies of teenagers beaten to death by what could only be described as some kind of bat or pipe. This is when The Highway Man was born.

Brad: Could have been anyone, maybe just a psycho that was trying to scare people into thinking it was the man come back.

Jason: Yeah, but how would the little footprints have come.

Storeclerk: There was one witness who survived an attack. She was with a group of friends, she was the only one in her twenties, just turned twenty to be exact. The cops found the car on the side of the road and opened it up... the driver's head was beaten in... as well as the rest except for one, her. She was laying in the backseat shaking rapidly and yelling leave me alone. When the authorities calmed her down... she told them that their car had broken down unexpectedly and when she looked outside she saw them. She said it was a man dressed in black carrying a baseball bat and two little girls dressed in white dresses. Thinking they had come to help she said they stayed in the car and waited, but as they got closer they began to notice things were really wrong. The man seemed to have no definition to his face and the girls were pale, white as ghosts and their dresses were stained red, as they got out of the fog and into the light of the headlights she realized they had no feet and were floating across the road, by then it was too late, the highway man had attacked her friends. She said she could hear the laughing of the two little girls as the man smashed in the skulls of her friends. The three stood over her and that's when she blacked out. The people in the small town all moved out and Crystalfield was wiped off the map. The only thing left is The Highwayman's house... which can't been seen from the highway anymore because the woods have grown back over the town. But, the spot where the club was can still be seen from the road, now its just a concrete slab.

**The teens look around at each other. A chill runs down Jason's spine**

Jason: How long has it been... since a killing?

Storeclerk: Oh years now.

Ryan: Oh come on, you don't believe this crap do you? Scary story lady... but we know its crap. I mean for one, we would have known about this. For two its impossible and for three... well its just impossible ok.

Storeclerk: Known about it? All the parents tried to cover it up because they didn't want their teens roaming the highway. Now, since there is nothing here teens have no reason to come down here and if they do they don't go past where Crystalfield was.

Brad: You said so yourself that there are tourists coming by.

Storeclerk: Yeah, and they always leave when its daylight.

Ryan: Whatever.

Storeclerk: Believe what you want to believe, just promise me you won't go snooping and promise me you won't stop anywhere on this road.

Ryan: Yeah we promise, whatever you want lady. Its time to go.

**Jason gives her the food and pays for it. Ryan pays for the gas**

Jason: Thanks again.

**The teens leave the store and get into their car they drive off down the highway**

Storeclerk: God, be with them... please do not let their car break down!

**The car is shown barreling down the highway full of teens unaware of the horror that is about to be unleashed on them**

Thanks Beau... it's coming out ok, not as well as it sounds and looks in my head... but I guess no story can be as good as what's in the head. I hope that its not too boring.
