Opinions on this please. I haven't had the misfortune of seeing it. I have heard it's horrible though. Anyhow, they are planning a sequel. Prodcution starts in November.

House of the Dead was horrible. I read a lot of bad reviews before seeing it in the theatre but I thought that it really couldn't be that bad. Trust me it's that bad. The only positive thing I can say about House of the Dead is that it's a hell of a lot better than Open Water.

It is bar none the worst movie I have seen in a very long time. It isn't even laughable bad.......more like headache inducing, wanting to gouge your own eyes out with a rusty nail bad. They should play this for death row immates to save on the costs of injecting them, they'd off themselves 5 minutes into this shit........then again that would be considered cruel and unusual torture.
Honestly, it really is a shit flick. Save your money for an ice cream cone, or a brand new shirt, or 10 gumballs.....just don't waste your time on this.
.....and I am a lover of all things zombie.......

Yeah you might like it. I found it entertaining. Not a great movie but it entertained me. Plus im a new fan of Erica Durance from Smallville and she sheds skin in this flick. Not a bad shoot em up movie...which it what the game is like.

It's a confusing movie. I don't understand quite why other zombies inhabit the island when there's one main guy who needs people in order to remain immortal.

I'm not usually a person who likes to bitch and moan about a movie, but this one was baaaaaaaad.
The dialogue was the worst;
Boy: Looks like it's gonna rain, let's go inside before we get wet
Girl: (slutty look on her face) Too late :p
It's nearly pornographic!
The story is non existant, and the people who call themselves actors in this movie need to actually attend them acting lessons in college, instead of bunking them off.
Overall: 0.5 out of 5 -- just because I saw an older Ellie Cornell, and her acting wasn't that good in this.

House of the Dead is bad - as in, how-did-this-ever-get-made-into-a-film bad.
If you've ever played the video game (which I had not, but subsequently did), the movie is exactly like the game. It's as if they put the game on the big screen and plugged actors into it - forgoing story, character development and just about everything else in order to keep the shoot-'em-as-fast-as-you-can premise of the game.
I sat through it only to see Ellie Cornell in a semi-lead return to film. While she's pretty handy firing every single weapon imaginable, and I do like seeing her just for the heck of it, the role/performance was ... well, not her best - to put it gently. (Here's hoping The Second Line is a better showcase for her to "return" to film).
If there's going to be a sequel ... ouch. I can't imagine it being any better than the original.

Well, Well, Well. I thought SOME people would like to know that is a sequel coming out. I myself wanted peoples opinions on the film. Isn't that enough reason to have a thread about it?

Yeah, I did not like this one at all. It was so bad that I just put it out of my mind and I never want to repay a visit to this one again. My younger brother rented it shortly after it had come out because he is a fan of the video games. After watching it, we agreed to take it back to the rental store and never look back. I agree with someone else's comment on here that it is the dialogue that really does it. I don't think it is the worst film I have ever seen but it really comes close.
