I have this on DVD and i like it. The father is great in this movie. It's almost like a "Home Alone" homage the way Father keeps getting hurt by Fool.....brick in the head for one....LMAO:D

I remember seeing it when it was released in the theatres. The part that still sticks out in my mind was the tub scene.

Great movie, with a nice social commentary. This movie was much better then most horror put out there and Wes deserves respect because this is an underrated movie. The cover of the movie is classic.

It is quite strange I have to agree but I like the fact that when you see all the police at the house you think its all over but their was still another 45mins to watch.

It defo delivered some scares and jumps... and also quite gory in some parts I found but it did not over do that... just the right amount!

Yea it's been a long time since i've seen this one as well. The only things i remember are the father in the gimp outfit and the little black kid in the walls....i think i remember Jim Brown being in this movie, i might be mistaken though.

Universal released it not too long ago, and it's barebones. It's probably around 15 bucks I would estimate.

im thinking its closer to ten, if im not mistaken i got it for that price at Circuit City the weekend after its release. but i may be incorrect.

ive liked this movie for years, probally since close to its vhs release back in the day.
years later i found it rather wierd that the warped parents are none other than the Nadine and Big Ed who were married to each other in Twin Peaks.

I'll always remember when "Big Ed" told the story of how Nadine lost her eye, and the agent played by Miguel Ferrer couldn't help laughing. :D

Cracks me up every time.

I've never heard of this movie. I must be really out of the loop. Maybe I should check it out. I do know that I like the title. :p

I like it a lot! It's kind of cheesy, but very entertaining. I like the whole scenario of a kid trapped in a house of psychotic people. It was suspenseful in some parts, and the girl that played the daughter was great. My favorite character was the mother though, she was scary, and very funny. My favorite part was when Fool put his fingers in the mothers nostrils, and she says poopoo! That was hysterical. :)

I must be old - I saw it at the cinema.

Fool is played by the Brandon Adams (the kid that did the Michael Jackson dance in MoonWalker - Baby Bad, etc). I would have thought he would have gone far, but his career seems to have dissapeared - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0010781/.

Good film though.

I thought this one was a bit too disturbing for my taste. And totally weird.

But I did like the part where the young girl jumps on that crazy bitch's back and slams her head repeatedly into the floor, saying, "I hate you, I hate you!"
Or something to that effect.

yeah, and Big Ed sings to Nadine in that episode too!
on top of old smokey
thats a great one. Miguel Ferrer was such a cool character in there!! i watched that episode about a month ago (2 months after ya posted that) haha

my sister got me into this movie when i was quite a bit younger and until buying the dvd awhile back when it was released i didnt know it was a Craven movie.
i really like the lesson it teaches about greed. the rich folks had all kinds of money that theyd never ever use while other people were losing their homes and robbing liquor stores just to make it. in the end their greed thatd been building up over the years underneath the house was their demise. if the kids they stole in the first place were good enough for them then they may still be alive.

Holy cow...I used to love this movie! It is a true cornball classic! :D

I actually remember being afraid to turn off the lights after this one at a friend's house one time...LOL. The thought of the weird people from under the stairs lurking around got to me since my friend's house was pitch black once the tv was turned off.

This movie never gets old and it is so different that it makes for quite a unique horror film. It's always weird to see AJ Langer (Rayanne Graff from My So-Called Life) in there since she looks so young. I will definitely be rebuying this onto dvd since my vhs is worn down and on its last legs.

I loved this movie. It scared the crap outta me when I first saw it. Great villains! You really wanted both of them to get the shit kicked out of them.:D

Time to stick a rod through this thread and inject some electricity again.

I watched this a few nights ago on Max and adore it now. It's really fucking weird and entertaining and constantly funny. I've heard of it before and never bothered to watch it...and that sucks 'cause its great.

The battle between the father and the black kid is definitely a warped version of Home Alone, with some of the best facial expressions I've ever witnessed. I busted a gut when the cop was investigating the room and the father had the cheap hat on and lifted it to wipe his bloody wound, then dropped it and acted normal again on moment's notice when the pig returned.

Everett McGill is the man.

Haha no, but this is a good movie. I liked it for what it was. Growing up I never watched it cause I thought it would be too scary, years later just to find out it was more of a comedy. Wasnt the kid who lived in the walls whats his face from the first matrix. The little guy?

I really like the movie. It was one of Craven's weirder movies, which is good. It had nice black comedy to go along with the horror elements.
