» Dean Cundey to supervise transfer of 35th Anniversary Blu-ray of Halloween - See more at: http: |
HalloweenMovies.com have today confirmed that Dean Cundey, director of photography on the original Halloween will be supervising the transfer for the upcoming 35th anniversary edition Blu-ray.
Cundey approved the THX DVD edition in 1999 but he has since been absent on any subsequent released. Many purists (both Halloween and videophiles) have been very critical of both the Divimax 25th Anniversary (and later the original Blu-ray) for not continuing to use the colour timing that Cundey approved, so his involvement in this new edition will hopefully go someway in making a perceived amends for those ‘poor’ releases.
Here is the announcement from HM.com:
Trancas International Films, Compass International Pictures, and Halloweenmovies.com are proud to announce award winning cinematographer Dean Cundey is supervising the new high definition transfer of John Carpenter’s Halloween for the upcoming 35th Anniversary Blu-ray!

Going back almost 12 years or so previously, the exclusion of Danielle Harris in Halloween 6 left a sour taste in a lot of fans mouths. She WAS Jamie Lloyd. The concept of a still working Danielle Harris not getting her own role in a future Halloween movie didn’t really compute. She was age appropriate, and quite frankly why would they even consider casting anyone else?
Well, it turns out that there were... [Read More]
